At the first week of March, after Hizbullah got instructions from IRGC to restart attacking Israel - it made preparations to invade Israel northern villages along the border. IDF identified hundreds of Radwan force (Hizbulla elite commando unit) sneaking south of the Litani River in plain cloths, to pre planned weapns caches in private homes in south Lebanon. Many were eliminated from the air, but ground troops had to rush into Lebanon to engage them on the ground.

It turns out Northern Israel residents were in great jepordy - and this is why the goverment withheld this info until the signing of ceasefire.

How can a class have an open AI rule for exams?

🦔UC Berkeley's computer science department just posted its worst failure rates in years. 35.3% of CS 10 students got F's in spring 2026, up from under 10% in prior semesters. Professor Dan Garcia says the primary driver is a "vast increase in academic dishonesty" through LLMs. Students use AI to complete assignments, never learn the material, then fail exams. His office hours, once full, are now empty.

My Take
Companies are firing experienced engineers while the pipeline that produces new ones is being gutted by the same technology. Students use AI to bypass the hard part of learning, show up to exams without the understanding, and fail. One professor discovered a student's linear algebra class had an "open AI" policy for homework and exams. That student then couldn't do basic linear algebra in the next course.

Both ends of the workforce are eroding at the same time. Senior engineers are getting cut to fund AI spending. Junior engineers are graduating without the skills because AI did their coursework. And the companies spending trillions on these tools haven't connected those two facts yet.

The island in this video was erased from every Japanese map for seven years. The rabbits came later.

It is called Okunoshima, a small island about 4 km around in the Seto Inland Sea near Hiroshima. In 1929 the Imperial Japanese Army built a secret factory there to make poison gas. The spot was perfect: close enough to ship the weapons out, far enough from cities that no one would notice. To hide it, the army deleted the island from its official maps in 1938. Workers were not allowed to tell anyone what they made, not even their own parents.

By the end of the war, the plant had made more than 6,000 tons of chemical weapons, mostly mustard gas, which burns and blisters skin, plus a sneezing agent. Most of it was shipped out to be used against people in China, where it hurt tens of thousands. More than 6,000 people worked there over the years. When the men were sent off to fight in 1944, the most dangerous jobs went to more than a thousand local schoolchildren, some only 14. They stored the gas shells and scrubbed the factory floors. Many breathed in the fumes, got sick, and stayed sick for the rest of their lives.

When Japan surrendered, workers burned the records and smashed the machines. Allied troops dumped or buried the leftover gas. No one who ran the program was ever charged with a crime.

The rabbits you see mobbing tourists are not the descendants of the gas-test rabbits. Those animals were almost certainly put down when the factory was torn apart. Today's rabbits come from eight pet rabbits that a group of kids set free on a school trip in 1971. With no predators and a steady stream of visitors handing out cabbage, eight became hundreds.

A museum opened on the island in 1988 so the gas story would not be forgotten. So when that man steps off the boat and a crowd of bunnies runs over to sniff him, he is standing on ground where teenagers once stored shells full of poison.

My theory about what happened re: Iran was that Trump was ready to sign and was doing some pre-marketing of the deal on TS, including the statement that no direct payments will be made to Iran. Then the Iran social media team didn't go along and said "we expect $12b" almost immediately. So he knew his spin wouldn't work and now he wants to continue negotiating.
