The United Kingdom maintains that Republic Somaliland’s status is a matter for resolution between Hargeisa and Mogadishu. This is despite a 97% vote for independence in the 2001 Somaliland constitutional referendum, similar to the 99.8% outcome in the 2013 Falkland Islands referendum.

This disparity raises questions about the consistent application of self-determination as a principle in international policy.

Italy donates 30 shoes to somalia to help with the appearance of their officers.

This is a major investment in somalian economy and sovereignty.

The somalian government will ensure these shoes are not sold on the market.

Noone said Hargeisa was prosperous. After independence we’d still be the 4th poorest country in the world. All thanks to Somalia which has clinged onto Somaliland, hindering any growth and the economic access of Somaliland for over 3 DECADES. Free Somaliland forever and always!

Last night in Davos, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, i met with the President of the State of Israel, @Isaac_Herzog at a high-level dinner. Our discussions focused on strengthening and advancing bilateral relations between the Republic of Somaliland and the State of Israel.

I also met @EricTrump , an influential global figure and son of the President of the United States, as well as other senior global political figures and international leaders.
