using react navigation: https://t.co/bMc6LGHK7Y
was pretty quick and simple to implement primarily due to setting up firebase as a Higher Order Component. Really liked this tutorial which parts are still applicable for react native https://t.co/hkHsPKmzSx
#100DaysOfCode Had an interesting convo with a friend that works in speech therapy and how she makes physical games to make sessions more fun for kids. Made a very simple demo this weekend based on a game she described. Got a few upgrades in mind as well as some variations.
Tracked down the function and tested it out with various values and it turns out the A was the issue. Replaced it with "에이" which sounds out A in Korean. Hopefully the delivery people will understand the address still.
Day 9 #100DaysOfCode Wow today I actually used my web dev skills in real life as I was trying to buy a virtual concert ticket on a Korean site. They wouldn't accept my friend's address I gave despite it being in Korean. Well, except the A.
Day 7&8 #100DaysOfCode Learning Phaser3 for a client project. It's cool how smooth the transition to learn it is coming from experience in JS and Unity. Still doesn't stop me from being stuck at weird bugs late into the night. Will likely have to pick at someone's brain tomorrow
Day 5 & 6 #100DaysOfCode#ggj2021 WHOO felt really good about this jam and made a game my friends and I are real proud about. Download and play the game at @JFrisoGames 's site: https://t.co/e3OyEx0Tg4
Day 4 #100DaysOfCode but day 3 of #ggj2021 though we finally chose our idea and got started.
It's basically papers please but everyone is drunk. Wrote some dialogue tonight, and will start implementing some features tomorrow in between writing.
Still brainstorming, we have a few ideas and so we're trying to flesh them out. Took a brainstorming break to work on my side project, hooking up react native navigation with the ui kitten bottom bar Day 3 #100DaysOfCode
A bit late to the new years but reviving my dead acc and #100DaysOfCode challenge which I feel like I should start back to day 1 lol. Learning React Native and just hooked up a login and signup form in expo with react hook forms, ui kitten and firebase.
Wondered how strings are handled in JS and they are in UTF-16. Thus emojis can be used! Also, apparently you'll get some unexpected values when you try and get the length of an emoji. Article goes more in depth: https://t.co/kd2WfMV27A
#100DaysOfCode Day 28, 29 Was practicing some questions in Cracking the Coding Interview and went down a mini rabbit hole about ASCII vs Unicode strings. https://t.co/GDFAOXLg6Z
The second answer by Andrew was very interesting. 👌[...]
#100DaysOfCode Continuing my read of Clean Code, on ch.1 on naming practice. Good names should:
- convey intent
- avoid misleading readers
- be pronouncable
- have meaningful distinction
An example definitely done:
