I went to vote today for the California primaries in Venice.
I asked the volunteer worker if they check ID. He said no.
I asked him how they confirm somebody is eligible to vote. He said we look up their name and if it’s registered to an address then we allow it.
I said so in theory, my British friend who just moved here who has an address could walk up and vote. He said yes i suppose he could but that would be a felony so why not just rob a bank instead.
He called it a fun thought exercise.
Went to vote today for the California primaries
The guy next to me called over an election worker because his ballot didn't include the LA mayoral race
The worker checked and told him it was because his registered address was in Malibu, which is outside the City of LA
The guy then asked if he could provide another address
To my surprise, the answer was yes
So he gave the worker an LA address, they voided his previous ballot, issued a new one, and suddenly he was able to vote for the mayor of LA
How is voter ID not mandatory in all 50 states?
Colombia just held their election.
They require voter ID and use paper ballots. They hand-count the votes of each station one by one. No machines or mail-in ballots due to security concerns.
~24 million votes.
It was all done in a couple hours.
I’m obviously thrilled that Spencer Pratt will advance to the runoff in November
However, it’s mind-boggling the majority of people looked around at the state of their city and said “Yes, I want more of this” and still voted for Karen Bass

Okay this is getting CRAZY.
SpaceX pre-IPO is closing in on $1,000 a share.
Elon Musk is about to become the world's first MULTI-TRILLIONAIRE.
Let that sink in.
Not a millionaire. Not a billionaire. Not even a trillionaire.
A MULTI-TRILLIONAIRE.
He owns roughly 42% of the equity.
79-85% voting control depending on share class.
This IPO will be WILD.
