God save our gracious king, long live our noble King, God save the King!
God save our gracious King, long live our noble King, God save the king!
Send him victorious! Happy and glorious!
Long to reign over us, God save the King!
Everyone got mad when @NathanJRobinson pointed this out, but paywalls have played in an inexorable role in the decline of pro-system politics. You don’t need to pay to watch right-wing influencers and you don’t need to pay for Current Affairs or Jacobin or More Perfect Union.
On one hand I’m peeved by the laziness and cynicism on display here but on the other hand as a DSA member I kind of like the idea of us getting credit all leftist success. It’s emblematic of DSA becoming hegemonic and synonymous with the left—we shouldn’t take that for granted.
I truly don’t recall PlayStation ever getting this much negative press since the PS3 pricing.
Even the previous announcement of the PS3/Vita store shutdown wasn’t this massive.
Hell, people weren’t this mad even when PSN was down for months. They were just disappointed.
@lukeisamazing Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses H. Grant are the figures that delivered this country to the general state we live in now. Everything before that was a half assed, last minute pretext to permit land seizure and slavery at cost the founders wouldn’t pay themselves.
@lukeisamazing Liberals are more willing to talk about the American rev than the civil war because the civil war was basically a product of "sensible" moderates kicking the can of abolishing slavery down the road and exposes the undemocratic character of the US Constitution
I kinda love this guy because he tries so hard to fit in with American conservatives, but there's always this uncanny valley effect because he's just a bit too European to pull it off. For instance, a true American would never feel guilty for gaming the system.
One time I tried googling Slovakian cultural traditions and I shit you not all I could really find was a Slovakian on reddit going "we dont really have any, sorry"
You can totally be like a congressman or senator or President, you just have to be a liar.
Not an air traffic controller though, because they check if you’re on antidepressants. Meanwhile, get the code for nukes if you’re a known cokehead/alcoholic.
Pro tip to the kids: if a cop ever stops you and says: “if you leave, you’ll die,” don’t respond with “I don’t care” and then be very honest about your depression. They will 5150 you and that pretty much wrecks your chances for federal jobs for the rest of your life. (1/)
