This is now possible, thanks to a revolution in weather forecasting driven by artificial intelligence (AI)

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (MoAFW) is harnessing the power of AI for farmers. In a novel public initiative, MoAFW sent AI-based monsoon forecasts via SMS (m-Kisan) to nearly 3.8 crore farmers across 13 states this year. #MumbaiRains Our Mumbai Flood app provides information on real time waterlogging status of various railway tracks. 20 mm rain crossed in just 15 mins and red alerts are visible at Goregaon, Ram Mandir, Mulund, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Vidyavihar, Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd.

The train component shows an alert at the train stations based on the recorded rainfall values of the nearest AWS at 15 min intervals. We request all #Mumbaikars to report flooding using app/website if stranded at any station, road, or bus-stop.#mumbairains
