If E20 is completely safe, why won't the government release its own report?
- A Mumbai-based banker, Nachiket Deshpande, filed an RTI seeking the actual research studies the Petroleum Ministry itself cited as proof E20 is safe → the ones conducted by IOCL, ARAI, and SIAM. The response: the reports cannot be revealed. The ministry cited the very data it used to justify its own policy, then classified that data when someone asked to see it.
- This isn't the first time this study has caused trouble. A 2014-15 government-funded study by ARAI, the Indian Institute of Petroleum, and Indian Oil Corporation already found up to a 6% decline in fuel economy depending on vehicle type → years before E20 became mandatory nationwide. The government has known about the efficiency hit since before it pushed the policy.
- In Parliament, the government has repeatedly told the Rajya Sabha that E20 causes no significant compatibility issues and no abnormal wear and tear. Outside Parliament, when a citizen asks to actually verify that claim with the underlying data, the answer is confidentiality.
- Millions of vehicle owners have no choice in this. They didn't get a say in the policy, they can't get a say in the data, and they're the ones absorbing the cost → reduced mileage, possible long-term engine wear, parts replacement. Taxpayers fund ARAI and IOCL. The research belongs to the public that paid for it.
This isn't about whether E20 works or doesn't. It's about whether a government that demands compliance from every citizen is willing to be transparent about the evidence behind that demand.
If the data supports your policy, publishing it costs you nothing. Refusing to publish it costs you everything → starting with trust.

NEET: 22 lakh students affected
CBSE: 17 lakh students affected
CUET (UG): 16 lakh students affected
That’s 55 lakh students in distress.
Is one incompetent Education Minister more important than 55 lakh students? Why is the Prime Minister not sacking him?
BEFORE SLEEPING KNOW THIS...
FOR 15 YEARS, while most people escaped the summer heat, Harpal Singh Pali drove a tractor-tanker deep into the burning Shivalik Hills every alternate day carrying WATER for wild animals. As lakes dried and forests cracked under extreme heat, deer, wild boars, blue bulls, and peacocks began waiting for one sound — the arrival of his tractor.
Using his OWN MONEY, without donations or government support, Pali created and refilled 25 water holes across nearly 5 kilometres of forest so animals would not enter villages searching for water. Fuel prices increased. Maintenance costs rose. Still, he never stopped. He even dedicates 10% of his income to wildlife welfare.
The internet is where citizens hold power to account. But new IT Rules could make censorship easier, fact-checking weaker, and online creators more vulnerable to government oversight. This isn’t just about one blocked account. It’s about your right to speak, question, and know. We have a week to push back.

Dear football,
Today, I want to share with you that this season will be my last as a professional footballer. After so many years living my dream, I feel it’s time to start a new chapter in my life.
Being honest, even though I have been preparing myself for this moment, I found it hard to write this letter. After 20 seasons , many people have played an important role in my career.
When I first kicked a ball as a child in Pamplona with my schoolmates, I never imagined the amazing journey ahead. I’m grateful for every moment: the wins, the tough losses, the challenges, and most of all, the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
To my teammates, coaches, and every staff member at all the clubs I’ve been lucky to be part of, thank you for helping me grow as a person and a player every day. Wearing the shirts of CA Osasuna, Olympique Marseille, Chelsea FC, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, and representing my country at the biggest stages has been a true privilege. Every moment has meant so much to me…
Supriya’s father, Sharad Pawar, served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra 4 times.
She herself has been a Member of Parliament since 2009.
Yet they couldn’t build even a single university in Maharashtra good enough for her own son to study in. 🤡🤦♂️
I am always in favour of public transport, even in normal times
But, India is not a public travel friendly country. You might take the metro, but the road to reach the metro station is full of hawkers, dug up roads, political banners.
Mumbai is not a walkable city. Even though most people walk.
We have not invested enough to make public transport attractive in normal times for us to rely on it during difficult times.
A whole army of influencers has been deployed to say the bank is not at fault! Well, @MoneylifeF is 17 years old, and we know how banks treat even educated people, how accounts are blocked (ours too - both personal and work) for KYC updates without EVER informing us it was due. So if you think this man was not given the run-around, you are either extraordinarily lucky (perhaps you don't have a bank account), or extremely naive, or have other 'motivation' to jump to the bank's defence!
How pathetic is the law and order in Pune!
@PuneCityPolice get these criminals to justice.
@PuneCityTraffic how many more incidents do you need, to act on vehicles without licence plates? This is a serious security risk. This guy here clearly has no plate on his vehicle, watching mobile videos while riding.
How are u going to trace him, by that apology of a face?
@DGPMaharashtra@CMOMaharashtra hope you'll see this - not as an assault on a lady, but as a slap on your face.
This was totally expected. Shame on BJP and those who are supporting BJP for this incident.
A complaint has been filed against the woman who stood up against the BJP's morcha that blocked the roads in Worli.
It's not just her voice it's the voice of millions who suffer from authority and I Stand with that Woman who stood up against BJP's Morcha

RFK Jr: "A Democratic senator claimed it's mathematically impossible to have a drug drop by 600%. I said, 'Well, if the drug was $100 and it raises to $600, that would be a 600% rise. If it drops from $600 to $100, that's a 600% savings.'"
