4. #BlackDay 5 Oct 2025 – Justice for PB Employees
💔 No Family Pension for Prasar Bharti Employees
Late Jyoti Prakash Trivedi (DD News) died fighting cancer, denied Medical treatment and family pension due to the 5 October 2007 cutoff date.
Late Ankur Saxena (HPT Bundi) and Late Rahul Deshmukh (DDK Bhopal) also passed away; their families left destitute without terminal benefits.
Instead of compassion, MIB and PB dragged widows through court battles, denying the very social security promised by our Constitution.

3. #BlackDay 5 Oct 2025 – Justice for PB Employees
Before the Prasar Bharati Amendment Act, 2011, all employees—whether recruited directly by Prasar Bharati/SSC or on deemed deputation—enjoyed equal benefits. Our salaries were paid securely from the Consolidated Fund of India (CFI) as a Grant-in-Aid through the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB).
We had:
CGHS medical coverage for quality healthcare
CGEGIS group insurance for financial security
GPRA housing under Central Pool accommodation
Pension, gratuity, and all standard service benefits
Common sense demands that with time, employee benefits, salaries, and social security should strengthen — not vanish.
Yet, in a shocking reversal, everything we once took for granted was systematically revoked for employees recruited after 5 October 2007, in the name of “autonomous body” status.
Post-2007 recruits lost CGHS & CGEGIS gradually after the 2012 Amendment, fully withdrawn by 2020.
Pension rights and family pensions denied to deceased employees’ families.
GPRA housing benefits removed, forcing employees to pay exorbitant market rents in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and other metros.
Promotions blocked, leaving new recruits stagnating at Grade Pay ₹4200/₹2400 for nearly two decades.

Prasar Bharti employees who gave the best years of their life to public broadcasting are not worthy of even one promotion in two decades, clear judicial direction can be kept in cold storage while files “move in circles” Ministry and PB is ready to fight its own employees in contempt proceedings rather than grant them their rightful promotions.
This is not governance. This is institutional harassment.
We remind the Ministry & Prasar Bharati:
⚖️ Articles 14 & 16 of the Constitution guarantee equality in service matters.
📜 Once posts have vested in PB, dividing “deemed deputationists” and “PB recruits” is ultra vires, illegal, and discriminatory.
⏳ Employees have already waited 18+ years—every single day of further delay is nothing short of cruelty.
👉 We demand: Implement promotions immediately, as per the CAT Delhi order dated 06.08.2024.
Stop hiding behind artificial barriers. Stop wasting money of Prasar Bharati employees and taxpayer money fighting contempt cases. Stop killing the morale of engineers who serve 24x7 in national interest.
Enough is enough. Promotions delayed are promotions denied.
📢 Start promotions NOW.

Similarly one of our colleague from @DDNewslive
Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, EA @DDNewsHindi, is on lifesaving dialysis after kidney failure & multiple organ complications.
With an exhausted OPD limit of ₹37,500, he now bears ₹4.5k–6k per session from his own pocket — 3 times/week.
This is a clear case for IPD treatment under OM dated 15.07.2014 by @MoHFW_INDIA
We request @prasarbharati to treat this as IPD under special case norms (OM 15.07.2014) & allow full reimbursement. Dialysis isn't optional—it's survival.
We, the employees of @prasarbharati, are consistently denied proper medical facilities.
Those recruited after 2007 have no CGHS access, face rejection at hospitals, and suffer huge financial losses.
We request @GauravDwivedi95@navneetsehgal3@pragyapgaur sir/madam to take this up seriously

Prasar Bharati Board Neglects Employee Interests!
Despite the provision that two representatives of Prasar Bharati employees should be part of the Prasar Bharati Board, the board meetings fail to take any concrete decisions in favor of employees. This clearly reflects the discrimination faced by the employees.
📢 We demand:
1. Meaningful and active representation of employees on the Board.
2. Employee-related issues to be addressed as a top priority.
3. Transparent and fair decision-making in the interest of the workforce.
Prasar Bharati employees are the backbone of the organization — they cannot be ignored.
Urgent intervention needed!

In light of the current emergency due to war-like conditions, we request the management to ensure insurance & death compensation for all PB employees deployed in border areas.
We urge that PB employees posted at border areas be given similar insurance and compensation benefits as CG staff.

Enough delay. We needs leaders who can decide.
For more than a quarter ‑ century—28 years since Prasar Bharati began(The Parliament of India passed the Prasar Bharati Act in 1990 to grant this autonomy, but it was not enacted until 15 September 1997.)—no promotion policy existed for its own employees. In 2023 the Prasar Bharati Board in its 182nd meeting finally decided a promotion procedure for Prasar Bharti Employees, ending decades of uncertainty. Yet in 2024 the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting put that very procedure in abeyance till further orders. Since then the file has shuttled between desks in MIB and Prasar Bharati, but no formal order has been issued till date. One stroke of a pen was enough to suspend the policy; making a positive decision, it seems, is far harder.
🎥 Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw once said:
“Why does a person not take a decision? Because he lacks confidence.
Why does he lack confidence? Because he lacks professional knowledge and competence…
If you must be a bloody fool, be one quickly. Take a decision, and then accept full responsibility for it.
In this country, because somebody won’t take a decision, costs escalate, papers lie in somebody’s face for days, for months, for years. And when they finally take a decision, the cost of a project has gone up tenfold. Who suffers? We, the people of India, suffer.”
Today, indecision is measured not only in crores but in shattered careers, dimmed hopes, and the slow erosion of India’s public‑service broadcasting ethos. We make a direct, heartfelt appeal to the Honorable Prime Minister of India @narendramodi@PMOIndia@AshwiniVaishnaw@ianuragthakur@MIB_India@DoPTGoI@sjaju1@GauravDwivedi95@navneetsehgal3@DrJitendraSingh@prasarbharati@PBWaves @DGDoordarshan @AkashvaniAIR@OfficeOfRSP@MSJEGOI
@SecyDIPPGOI @CabinetSecy_India @FinMinIndia@PIB_India @mygovindiaLead. Decide. Deliver.
Lift the abeyance on promotions immediately—let merit and seniority flow again.
Match our duties with our rights: CGHS‑grade medical cover, family‑pension security, clear career ladders—benefits long enjoyed by colleagues on deemed‑deputation, yet denied to us.
We do not ask for privilege; we ask for parity.
We do not seek confrontation; we seek a decision—taken in courage, upheld in fairness.#JusticeForPBEmployees #RecogniseAPBEE #DelayIsDenial #PBPromotionNow #SamManekshaw #DecisionTime
Shaping Future: Equality, Dignity, and Justice for All PB Employees
PB Employees of Prasar Bharati stood united—not just to protest, but to shape a better future. Our peaceful protest was a call for fairness, dignity, and equal treatment against the unjust 5 October 2007 cutoff.
Shaping Future Means:
1. Equal Rights for Equal Work
All employees once had equal benefits—CGHS, insurance, housing, pensions, and stable salaries. These were taken away from post-2007 recruits, even though we do the same work.
2. Recognizing Talent, Not Connections
We entered through national-level exams with top qualifications (https://t.co/IZQf48kI8h). Yet promotions went to less-qualified deputationists. This is not the future we deserve.
3. Putting People First
Colleagues like Jyoti Prakash Trivedi, Ankur Saxena, and Rahul Deshmukh died in service. Their families were denied support. This cannot be the legacy of public services.
To Shape a Better Tomorrow, We Demand:
1. End the 5 Oct 2007 cutoff
2. Restore all employee benefits
3. Return salary funding to the Consolidated Fund
4. Recognize APBEE for fair representation
5. Ensure promotions are based on merit
We are not asking for favors. We are demanding fairness.
Let’s shape a future where every employee is respected, and every family is protected.
