A heartfelt thank you to @navneetsehgal3 Shri Navneet Kumar Sehgal Sir for his unwavering support to the Prasar Bharati Engineering Employees. Sir, your consistent willingness to meet us, patiently listen to our long-pending concerns, and extend every possible help on medical, promotional and welfare matters has truly strengthened the morale of our entire engineering fraternity.
Your empathetic leadership, clarity of thought, and readiness to stand with us whenever needed have given countless employees a sense of confidence and hope. It is rare to find a senior officer who not only understands the challenges of ground-level staff but also makes genuine efforts to address them within the available framework. Sir, for this, we remain deeply grateful.

Despite our higher education and hard work, the date October 5, 2007, has pushed us backward. For the past 18 years, we have received no proper encouragement or growth opportunities, and our talent and efforts have not been valued. Now is the time to remove this discrimination at its root so that we can receive the rightful rewards of our labor and move forward.

6. #BlackDay 5 Oct 2025 – Justice for PB Employees
Salary Diverted from CFI to IEBR: Our salaries were once drawn from the Consolidated Fund of India (CFI), ensuring stable, government-backed pay. After the 2007 cutoff, new PB recruits’ salaries were shifted to Prasar Bharati’s Internal Extra Budgetary Resources (IEBR), meaning they rely on the broadcaster’s own revenue. This move has destabilized our financial security – salaries now depend on fluctuating internal funds instead of guaranteed budget support. In fact, funding shortfalls have forced PB to dip into reserves to pay staff in the past. No employee should fear delayed or uncertain pay for serving the nation. We insist on financial stability and equal treatment in salary funding.

💔 No Family Pension for Prasar Bharti Employees
Late Jyoti Prakash Trivedi (DD News) died fighting cancer, denied Medical treatment and family pension due to the 5 October 2007 cutoff date.
Late Ankur Saxena (HPT Bundi) and Late Rahul Deshmukh (DDK Bhopal) also passed away; their families left destitute without terminal benefits.
Instead of compassion, MIB and PB dragged widows through court battles, denying the very social security promised by our Constitution.

Before the Prasar Bharati Amendment Act, 2011, all employees—whether recruited directly by Prasar Bharati/SSC or on deemed deputation—enjoyed equal benefits. Our salaries were paid securely from the Consolidated Fund of India (CFI) as a Grant-in-Aid through the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB).
We had:
CGHS medical coverage for quality healthcare
CGEGIS group insurance for financial security
GPRA housing under Central Pool accommodation
Pension, gratuity, and all standard service benefits
Common sense demands that with time, employee benefits, salaries, and social security should strengthen — not vanish.
Yet, in a shocking reversal, everything we once took for granted was systematically revoked for employees recruited after 5 October 2007, in the name of “autonomous body” status.
Post-2007 recruits lost CGHS & CGEGIS gradually after the 2012 Amendment, fully withdrawn by 2020.
Pension rights and family pensions denied to deceased employees’ families.
GPRA housing benefits removed, forcing employees to pay exorbitant market rents in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and other metros.
Promotions blocked, leaving new recruits stagnating at Grade Pay ₹4200/₹2400 for nearly two decades.
