Mayfield Park is open every day, 5am-10pm
Innovation, audacity and imagination are in the air, as energy, ideas and life return to this 24-acre hidden city gem
Welcome! Mayfield Park is now open for you to enjoy. This 6.5-acre space brings a new green lung to central #Manchester and will be open dawn til dusk, rain ☔️ or shine ☀️
61/100: #Mayfield has its very own gardener dedicated to maintaining all of the 140+ trees, lawns, wildflowers and plants across the park. This handy app allows the gardener to identify the many species of plants. #Mayfield100
We're hard at work improving the Play Yard at #Mayfield this week - please note that some areas will be out of bounds while works are ongoing.
We will endeavour to keep as much of the area as possible accessible; you'll be able to fully access the Play Yard from Sat 23rd March.
Looking forward to joining us at the #fireworks this weekend?🎆
Mayfield Park will be closing at slightly different times than usual to allow for the evening event:
Saturday: 17:00
Sunday: 17:30
See you soon 👋
This #WorldMentalHealthDay we're excited to share details of "Six Places in a Different Light" - an #art trail brought together by @wildinart & @WeAreWillow in which uniquely decorated head sculptures will be installed across the city.

#Onthisday in 2022, #Manchester's first new public park in 100 years opened. Typically, it rained, but that didn't stop it from being a vibrant celebration of this fantastic space.
Today, we celebrate the first anniversary of life at Mayfield, and look forward to what's to come.
Mayfield will soon be home to #Manchester's largest cycle hub, alongside two new #sustainable offices, as part of wider plans to grow the #Mayfield neighbourhood into a new urban quarter 🌳

59/100: It was reported in 1849 that the machines at #Mayfield could print a mile of cotton an hour - each year producing enough printed cotton to wrap around the diameter of the Earth. #Mayfield100
58/100: This textile fragment from the late 1800s shows the Mayfield House Reading Room. In Mayfield's industrial past, this would have been furnished with newspapers to encourage the 'working man' to read, and raise the general education of the population. #Mayfield100
Manchester International Festival begins tonight at Mayfield - find out more about the free installation coming to the River Medlock, with @rishamsyed and @factoryintl:
#MIF23
It's less than 48 hours until #MIF23 gets underway. ⏳
Join us in Mayfield Park from 6pm on Thursday for our opening event, Each Tiny Drop.
We asked artist @rishamsyed to explain the concept behind this free event.
Mayfield's #smokefree initiative will help cut down on litter - cigarette butts are the number one most littered item in the UK, and ultimately harm the environment.
This will protect the #biodiverse natural #habitats and #wildlife here at Mayfield Park.
#Cities4Health
One week to go until the start of #MIF23 🐝
Join us at #Mayfield Park to mark the start of the festival and celebrate our connection to water on the banks of the restored River Medlock.

#MayfieldPark will be going smoke free from 26th June.
Nearly 8 in 10 people (78%) in #Manchester, including 6 in 10 smokers, showed strong support to make more #publicspace smoke free.

Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay🍃
We love this year's theme of #EcosystemRestoration at Mayfield Park, where we brought the previously-covered Medlock River back into view, encouraging plants & #wildlife to make the park their home for years to come 🌳🐝🐞

Mayfield Park is going #smokefree.
Starting 26th June, Mayfield will be the first green space in Greater #Manchester to commit to the city region’s new plans to create more smoke-free spaces, which is better for us, and better for the planet.

We were pleased to host @mssocietyuk's #Manchester#MSwalk at Mayfield this weekend.
Thanks to the efforts of organisers, volunteers and fundraisers, @mssocietyuk has raised over £20,000 for this great cause so far this year.
