A Golden Ram and a Stone Lion, found in a tomb at the archaeological site of Gonur Depe (2400-1600 BC) in Turkmenistan 🇹🇲. The finger in the background shows how small these figures are, demonstrating the extraordinary skill of the craftsmen.
Long before Merv raised its first tower, Bronze Age villages were assembling along the Murgab River in what is called Margiana Oasis. The greatest of these ancient settlements, currently being excavated around Gonur Depe, has stunned archaeological world for its vast area and complex layout.
Gonur Depe (Grey Hill) along ancient delta of Murghab River, not far from the Afghan border, seems to have been settled during three main periods: 2300-1900 BC; 1900-1700 BC, a reconstruction after what may have been a large fire; and 1700-1500 BCE, after which it was apparently abandoned. Settlement was on the right bank of the ancient river, like ancient Indus settlements. There were also water reservoirs, smaller settlements in the area, graveyards with remains "confirming high social status of the buried", ritual animal burials, workshops for smelting bronze, possible palaces and much more.
"Gonur's culture shows many similarities with those of the Near and Middle East and Indus . . .. The method of burning the minerals [used in beads and mosaics] in order to facilitate their handling is known at monuments in the Indus Valley civilisation, starting from the Neolithic (Vidale 1989). Harappan seals were produced mainly from steatite after it had been fired (Masson 1977:149)" (p. 48). There is little doubt that there were direct connections with ancient Indus cities; the author who has long worked at the site writes "Victor Sarianidi underlined the fact that the trade routes of the so-called Silk Road began to develop long before the silk trade. They started to be used in the Bronze Age, if not earlier. It was through the contact and interaction of various cultural traditions, and the peaceful coexistence of different economic-cultural types in Central Asia in general, and Turkmenistan in particular, that people had the opportunity to enrich one another with the latest knowledge and technology, and moreover to create a brilliant centre of world culture (Sarianidi 2012b:157)" (p. 53).
The discoveries were first made in 1972 by Russian-Greek archaeologist Viktor Sarianidi, who continually uncovered new findings. Sarianidi considered Gonur to be one of the great civilisations of the ancient world and while this claim may be disputed, it is a fascinating site. What is certain, is that Gonur is one of the oldest fire-worshipping civilisations, parallel to the Bactrian cultures in neighbouring Afghanistan. The first agricultural settlements appeared in the area around 7000 BC, developing a strong agriculture. It is believed the city was slowly abandoned during Bronze Age as Murgab River changed course, depriving the city of water. The current excavations have been dated back to 3000 BC.
Sarianidi believed that Gonur was the birthplace of first monotheistic religion, Zoroastrianism, being at some point the home of the religion’s founder, Zoroaster. The adjacent sites have revealed four fire temples, as well as evidence of a cult based around a drug potion prepared from poppy, hemp and ephedra plants. This potent brew is almost certainly the haoma (soma elixir) used by the magi whom Zoroaster began preaching against in Zoroastrian texts.

NCC, CAC ANNOUNCE NEW REQUIREMENT FOR CHANGES IN SHAREHOLDING/OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE OF LICENSED COMMUNICATIONS COMPANIES
The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, and the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, have announced a new compliance requirement for changes in the ownership structure of licensed communications companies in Nigeria.
According to a statement by Nnena Ukoha, Director of Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, and Rasheed Mahe, Head of Public Affairs, Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, the requirement is in line with the provisions of Section 90 of the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, Regulation 28(2) of the Competition Practices Regulations 2007, and Regulation 42 of the Licensing Regulations 2019, which empower the NCC to oversee and review transactions affecting licensees and promote fair competition.
The statement explains that, with immediate effect, any proposed transfer of ownership or control of shares in an NCC licensee amounting to ten percent or more of the total share capital, as well as any series of share transfers that cumulatively exceed ten percent of the company’s total share capital, must obtain a Letter of No Objection from the NCC before such changes can be effected and registered with the CAC.
Under the new measure, the CAC will ensure that all applications for changes in shareholding structures involving ten percent or more of the shares of telecommunications companies are supported with evidence of the NCC’s prior approval and consent before registration.
The two agencies say the requirement is aimed at preserving a fair and competitive market structure within the communications sector by preventing direct or indirect anti-competitive practices and strengthening regulatory oversight of significant changes in ownership and control.
They add that the policy will promote transparency, boost investor confidence, provide regulatory certainty, and safeguard the long-term sustainability and stability of Nigeria’s communications industry.
The NCC and CAC reaffirmed their commitment to advancing a transparent, stable and competitive business environment, stressing that both agencies will continue to work together to ensure fair market practices and support the orderly and sustainable development of Nigeria’s communications sector.

Army work you complain
They dont work you complain
So many negativity in your spirit
Some Nigerians obviously want a failing country
This is not even about political support, the Nigerian Army are people just like u and i,who decided to protect lives, have some compassion!
Married for more than a decade now.
I have never thought of that question before.
Have we quarreled? Yes. But how we manage the quarrel was a different thing. I am using the word "was" here because we rarely do nowadays.
Having conflict resolution skills is very important in marriage.
The first few years were used to be totally truthful and transparent. It is the only way we know how to grow.
One thing for sure is, I have enjoyed this marriage with my wife.
But for the young guys out there, getting here is not luck.
You have to be smart about who you pick.
Anybody can fake it for the first few months.
The oldest trick is just acting exactly how you want them to act, just to pull you in.
They will hide the crazy until they think you are locked in.
So take your time. Tell her "no" and see what happens.
Watch her when she is mad or stressed out.
That is when you see who she really is.
Watch what happens when she makes a mistake.
If you point it out and she starts crying, flips it around, or blames you, walk away.
If she can't just say "I was wrong," she will make your life a nightmare. She will make miserable look like child's play.
Look at how she handles money. Is she trying to live like she's rich and expecting you to pay for it? Don't let her spend all your cash just to show off.
Listen to how she talks about her past. If every ex or old friend she has is "toxic" and she was always the victim, guess what? She is the problem. Soon enough, you'll be the next bad guy in her story.
Ohhh, and watch how she is with family. Watch how she acts when things go wrong, and how she treats them when she is angry.
Because sooner or later, if you marry her, you will be her family.
The signs are always there... people just let emotions cloud their judgment.
Looks don't mean much if she has a bad character.
Keep your eyes open, take things slow, and don't ignore the warning signs just because she is pretty.
SESI IN JUST 3 YEARS - BADAGRY SEEKS JUSTICE
His achievements may confuse us to assume MHR Sesi has been in the Assembly for eternity. Many who have served multiple terms would struggle to match the footprints he has left in just one. Yet he is, by every record, a first-term lawmaker.
Let's observe together:
School Projects - Built a solar-powered school at Javie Community School, constructed new classrooms at Anglican Primary School, Gbanko, and renovated classroom blocks at St. Leo’s Primary School, Ikoga.
Education Support - Renovated school toilet facilities and supplied buses, desks, benches, and learning materials across Badagry schools.
Scholarship Scheme - Established an ongoing scholarships scheme for students in high demanding fields such as Medicine, Computer Science, Data Analysis and other professional courses at institutions including University of Lagos and Lagos State University.
Tech & Digital Training: Launched the Badagry Tech Talent Programme (1000TTP), providing ICT, digital marketing, and laptop support for youths and women.
Vocational Empowerment - Facilitated training in tailoring, biogas production, renewable energy, and other technical skills.
Agricultural Support - Trained 100 constituents in fish farming with grants, built greenhouse units, and distributed fertilizer support to farmers.
Relief & Welfare - Distributed flood relief materials, food palliatives, and welfare packages to thousands of households, widows, and vulnerable families.
Community Development - Distributed solar inverter kits to 100 households, installed 321 solar street lights, and established free NIN registration centers.
Disability Support - Partnered with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities to provide assistive devices for persons with disabilities.
Job Facilitation - Secured employment opportunities for constituents in agencies including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Air Force, and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.
We will not exhaust our saliva seeking justification. Badagry saw these achievements. Badagry felt them - in rebuilt classrooms, lit streets, employed children, and relieved households. Badagry voted, and Badagry did not vote in confusion.
The leadership may have been misled - perhaps fed a version of events that did not taste like truth. But facts are stubborn and numbers are difficult.
Victory belongs here. The facts have already said so.
Good Evening Severally...
BADAGRY APPEALS FOR REASON - THE YOUNG SHOULD BREATHE
Hon. Prince Sesi Whingan Oluwaseun - The 40 Year Old Golden Son of Badagry
Our great and beloved party has concluded her primaries with the thunder of overwhelming success - feats worthy of emulation by every party that craves growth.
Yet, Imperfection belongs to man's Trademark.
Every institution forged by human hands carries within it the seed of error, however negligible, however quiet, however small. This is not a flaw to be ashamed of. It is the very signature of our humanity.
Nowhere was this truth more vivid than in Badagry - where the people poured out, in their overwhelming multitudes, to cast their votes for their golden son: Prince Sesi Whingan.
That intimidating tide of support was not the fruit of inducement or the harvest of coercion - but the natural reward of a forty-year-old lawmaker who showed up, rolled up his sleeves, and delivered.
THE LAWMAKER WHO MADE VISIONARY LAWS
The most sacred function of a legislator is legislation. On this altar, Sesi was found neither absent nor wanting.
Hon. Prince Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan answered every storm of national and local urgency with bills, motions, and advocacy that bear his fingerprints across the chambers of the Federal House of Representatives.
KEY BILLS SPONSORED
His legislative contributions span the breadth of the republic's most urgent conversations - environmental sustainability, child safety, economic expansion, and legal modernisation.
He championed the Decarbonisation Bill, which scaled its second reading - a bold stride in Nigeria's conversation with the future of the planet.
He introduced the Internet Child Pornography Prevention Bill, because a nation that will not protect its children has no future worth protecting.
He presented the Palm Oil Development Bill - trade rooted in our history.
The Cancer Registry Bill - because data saves lives where medicine sometimes cannot.
And he moved critical update bills including the Petroleum Industry Act (Amendment) Bill and the Central Bank of Nigeria Act (Amendment) Bill - touching the twin pillars of our economic architecture.
But Sesi did not stop at the national altar. He descended to his own soil.
He drove a bill to establish the University of Technology, Badagry - in its third reading - planting a tree whose shade future generations shall sit beneath.
He also formally moved for the establishment of the Nigeria French Language School - understanding that in the language of your neighbour lies the key to the door of regional relevance.
Beyond bills, he moved motions with the urgency of a man who understands that governance delayed is governance denied.
He moved to investigate the scandal of non-functional state refineries - facilities upon which over eighteen billion dollars had been poured like water into sand.
He moved to dismantle the illegal road blockages, extortion, and harassment festering along the Lagos-Agbara-Badagry-Seme Expressway - because a road is not a road if it is a trap.
He moved to scrutinise the regional operations of the Nigeria Customs Service.
And with the compassion of a true son of the soil, he moved to halt a cholera outbreak and restore power in the Badagry West LCDA - because darkness and disease are not destiny.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a champion of youth in politics, unmatched in the mentorship of young minds toward leadership's highest rungs.
Such a shining star is Prince Sesi Whingan Oluwaseun - a man whose capacity has never been in doubt, and whose grassroots support was never in danger.
And yet.
The primaries, which his camp celebrated as an overwhelming victory, now appear to shiver in the storm of uncertainty and possible oversight.
Performing young stars within our ranks must be encouraged to strive and to blossom. It is upon such shoulders that the future of this party and this nation shall be built.
The young should breathe.
Now to his landmark projects:
Shall I Begin?
“It is common knowledge that Lagos generates above 13,000 metric tonnes of refuse daily. Rather than seeing it a challenge, the present administration has initialed measures to ensure that it becomes an advantage which can be explored to the benefit of everyone. The State is moving from the linear collect and dump at landfill sites to a long-term goal that sees waste as a resource. It is about the transition of Lagos towards a zero-waste economy where waste generation is minimized while maximizing resource recovery, recycling and reuse.”
- Mr. Tokunbo Wahab
Hon. Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources

To the resilient, passionate, and progressive people of Badagry Federal Constituency, I want to once again reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the growth, development, and proper representation of our land and our people.
Our movement has never been about personal ambition alone; it has always been about the collective dream of a better Badagry, a Badagry where our voices are heard, our communities are prioritized, our youths are empowered, our traders and farmers are supported, and our people truly enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Over time, we have shown through service, accessibility, and people-centered representation that leadership must remain connected to the people. Every step we have taken has been driven by the desire to protect the interests of our constituency and ensure that Badagry takes its rightful place in the conversations of development and progress.
At this crucial moment, I appeal to every supporter, every stakeholder, every youth, every woman, and every believer in this cause to remain calm, peaceful, steadfast, and hopeful as we await the official announcement from the party. Let us continue to conduct ourselves with maturity, unity, and confidence.
The love, support, and overwhelming solidarity shown across our communities in the past days have been deeply inspiring. It is a reflection of a people who believe in continuity, competence, and genuine representation.
By the grace of God and with the support of our people, we are confident that we will coast to victory. And when victory comes, it will not belong to one person alone, it will belong to the entire people of Badagry who stood firmly for progress, inclusion, and development.
The journey continues, and the mission remains clear: better representation, greater opportunities, and a stronger future for Badagry.
