Tonight isn’t just another Mass.
It’s the Easter Vigil — the most important liturgy of the entire year. It’s also one of the oldest acts of Christian worship. (Corrected from the mistake I made in the video where I said it was the oldest)
And here are 3 things that will completely transform how you experience it 👇
The Church begins in total darkness.
Not by accident… but by design.
A single flame is lit.
The Paschal Candle enters.
“Lumen Christi” — Light of Christ.
And just like that…
darkness is overcome.
This isn’t symbolism.
This is Genesis happening again.
“Let there be light.”
Because tonight, God is ushering in a new creation.
Then come the readings… up to 9 of them.
Creation. Noah. Abraham. The Exodus.
It feels long… until you realise:
this is the entire story of salvation building to ONE moment.
The empty tomb isn’t a twist ending.
It’s the only possible conclusion to God’s love story.
And then… the line most Catholics have never noticed:
From the ancient Exsultet:
“O happy fault of Adam… which gained for us so great a Redeemer.”
The Church isn’t celebrating sin.
She’s proclaiming something far more powerful:
God took the worst moment in human history…
and turned it into the reason for our salvation.
The wound became the reason for the Physician.
The darkness became the reason for the Light.
The sin became the reason for Christ to come.
So here’s the question:
If God can do that with the fall of humanity…
what can He do with your brokenness?

Looking for what to give up this Lent?
Give up fear of failure, feelings of unworthiness, pleasing people, bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, harsh words, rash judgment, impatience, comparison, always complaining, fault-finding, speaking ill of others, gossiping, impurity, mediocrity, addictions, negativity, worry, ungratefulness, and finally, give up giving up so easily.
@FrUgochukwu ASH WEDNESDAY
In this sacred season of Lent, we begin in humility and repentance.
The First Year of the Pontificate of Leo XIV.
Ash Wednesday, receiving ashes on their foreheads as a reminder that “we came from dust and to dust we shall return.”

On Ash Wednesday, the Christian faithful are marked with an ash on their foreheads with the words: "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." This ash is both a symbol and reminder. It is a symbol of repentance and a reminder of our mortality and human frailty.
THE LIFE OF ST THOMAS AQUINAS
Today, the Church remembers St Thomas Aquinas - a saint who proved that faith and reason are not enemies, but friends walking toward the same Truth. Born into nobility in 13th-century Italy, Thomas was expected to become a powerful abbot. Instead, he chose the Dominican life, much to his family’s outrage.
So serious was their opposition that his own family imprisoned him for nearly a year, hoping to break his vocation. They failed. God had already captured his heart.
Quiet, slow-speaking, and often underestimated, Thomas was nicknamed “the Dumb Ox.” His teacher, St Albert the Great, famously replied: “One day this ox will bellow so loudly that the world will hear him.”
And bellow he did - through theology. Thomas wrote with clarity and depth, showing how reason can lead us to God and how faith perfects what reason begins.
His masterpiece, the Summa Theologiae, remains one of the greatest works of Christian thought, shaping Catholic theology for centuries. Yet near the end of his life, after a profound mystical experience, Thomas stopped writing and said: “All that I have written seems like straw compared to what has been revealed to me.”
St Thomas Aquinas teaches us this: study can be holy, thinking can be prayer, and true wisdom always ends in humility before God.
St Thomas Aquinas, pray for us. Amen🙏
MERCY TUESDAY
(2 Corinthians 12:9)
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Prayer for Mercy:
Father of mercies, on this Mercy Tuesday, I declare that Your grace is sufficient for me, my work, my season, and my weaknesses. I lay down every confidence in the flesh, and I embrace total dependence on You.
Lord, I ask that Your power find full expression in my weakness. May every area where I feel inadequate become a platform for Your glory, every limitation be turned into a testimony, and every thorn become a sign of Your sufficiency. I walk today in the consciousness that Christ is enough for me. Amen.
Jesus, I trust in you !

MERCY TUESDAY
(Luke 1:28)
Rejoice, so highly favoured! The Lord is with you.
Prayer for Mercy:
Merciful Father, thank You for Your reassuring words spoken through the Archangel Gabriel. On this Mercy Tuesday, I claim the authority of your word and speak over my life: the Lord is with me, I am highly favoured!
In my going out and coming in, Lord be with me and favour me! When I don’t understand what’s ahead, may your presence be my anchor.
Lord, let Your mercy speak loudly over my weaknesses. Let Your favour surround me like a shield. I refuse to fear, I refuse to doubt, because You are Emmanuel, God with me. By Your Spirit, I shall rise again. By Your grace, I shall move forward. And by Your merciful presence, I shall prevail. Amen.
Jesus, I trust in you !
