@marissalynnj@MsReillyTweets@SamanthaBahna Flipgrid allows for video without the pressure of it being live like Zoom or Hangouts. I love the idea of using Flipgrid as a diary entry. This time is historic and students (especially young ones) may not have the ability to process what is happening and how they feel. Bravo.
@MSkarantonakis @seatermedia@DoloresReilly17@SamanthaBahna SM addresses a key component that is often missing from traditional distance learning - social connection. @SamanthaBahna@Shareefahteach@seatermedia It can be considered an equalizer in the sense that for the most part it doesn't require specialized skills, software, or a paid subscription. It also equalizes voices that may not be heard in class (keeping in mind that internet access is available as others mentioned)
@A_Novel_Idea96@SamanthaBahna Great point. Teacher-student interactions via social media provides a model for students to follow when using communicative media professionally. Shows a clear distinction between SM for personal use.
Twitter is a great PD tool for school classrooms and programs and a way to share out to the community any activities happening. Especially for school libraries, it provides a means to promote programs or share needs (3/3) #EDTC618S20@SamanthaBahna
Social media has expanded the way in which we can both interact with students, as well as the "story" that we tell about our classrooms or school community. Social media provides opportunities to expand on classroom knowledge (1/2) #EDTC618S20@SamanthaBahna
Instagram stories provides a way for educators to create byte-sized learning and archive it for students as a reference. Instagram live has also been used for reading alongside their chat feature (2/3) #EDTC618S20@SamanthaBahna
