@JillFilipovic There is no world in which supporters of this genocide would be willing to rethink their position if only ppl would condemn Hamas. There is no “both sides” compromise that is a solution to colonialism. Those supporting Palestine have no responsibility to yield to this narrative
@BC24s@alexfrco No, not like Rice at all. Like I said, Rice was elite statistically before we signed him. If technique is so important, than you gotta stop evaluating it through YouTube clips. Per 90, Rogers passing, dribbling, np xG are just not that good.
@BC24s@alexfrco Youre speaking in vague terms. Numbers aren’t everything, but you can’t be elite with average stats. You have to explain that. And that’s in a team that plays in a style that suits him. Re, other players: Barcola, Yildiz, Godts. Different profiles. All 3 would be a better fit
@BC24s@alexfrco The warning signs are clear. Stats are far from everything. But I can’t remember the last player we signed for big money who was this statistically underwhelming. And that’s in Villa’s system, which suits him (counterattacking/lots of transitions). For 80mill? Na
@BC24s@alexfrco He’s not near elite though lol. If you actually watch him play, for instance, you’d know he’s a turnover machine. By the logic youre using we shouldve tried to sign Adama Traore 5 yrs ago! Rogers is a good, but flawed player. Those flaws are just overshadowed in a team like Villa
@alexfrco It is possible Rogers could work well for us depending on how you use him. But in our current setup, it’s an awkward fit, and risky at 80mill. For that amount of money there’s numerous better options to play off to the left.
@alexfrco It’s not very well thought out. Declan Rice was an elite midfielder when we signed him. He had some weaknesses (eg build up) but most of his stats were elite. Rogers is the opposite. Statistically he’s very average. People are relying way too much on limited eye tests/highlights
Compare Table - Morgan Rogers vs Eberechi Eze vs Leandro Trossard vs Martin Ødegaard - Attacking Mid
I think I am really going to enjoy using this multi-compare tool.

This is one of the most heart-wrenching videos I have ever seen. It shows the immediate aftermath of an Israeli soldier shooting a 7-month old Palesinian baby in the head, stealing his life.
It shows that the car with the Palestinian family had stopped. Yet the Israelis shot.
The father is holding his infant son in his arms as he bleeds to death from the shot to his head. It tears you apart.
This is the daily life of Palestinians under Israel's US-supported occupation.
You never know when you will be shot in the head. It can happen any time, for any reason.
And the world approves.
@Gavgunner1@DiffKnock So yea, I would say going for the more well-rounded, versatile elite player is a much better strategy then going for a player who is really good at 1-2 things and not so good other things.
@Gavgunner1@DiffKnock Do you even read what you click on? lol. Kenan Yildiz is an all around elite player (though not one of the best in the world in any one specific skill). Morgan Rogers is a good player who happens to be elite at 1-2 skills (he’s a very powerful runner + shooting from distance)
@pedroelchileno Hmmm. That’s a good point. I hadn’t thought about long balls producing transitional situations. So if you can get Rogers on the end of second balls in those a scenarios, he would have space to create/run into.
@pedroelchileno The things he does well are things we dont have in the squad, but I feel like thats for a reason. Arteta may be looking to change the team or expand our options, but at the moment I’m trying to think of a similar type of player with those strengths in other possession based teams
@pedroelchileno Idk, what I see is a powerful runner with long distance striking ability who thrives in transitional/counter attacking teams. Would be quite different from what we currently have, and it’s hard to see how Arsenal (as opposed to United or Liverpool) would get the best out of him
