1. Your life isn’t a one-act play.
2. You’re never too smart to be confused.
3. Gravitate toward work that solves an important problem.
4. Don’t underestimate the power of friendship.
5. You’re not a slacker if you cut yourself some slack.
This week I'm in Lisbon at #WebSummit2022.
I’m supporting @Freya_Sense and the amazing team that helps early stage startups attract and hire the best talent. If you're around, let's connect.

How to build an iconic startup?
Focus on building a team that makes each other better and create a culture people enjoy being a part of because the best teams always win.
Sometimes it's that simple.
@arabayyya Definitely. The easiest way though to adopt a new way of being is surrounding yourself with people that embody it (goes into the "you're the average of the X people around you). As an "outsider", it is unlikely to have an understanding of a "way of being" without close examples.
@arabayyya Hence, being intentional and choosing first a "way to be" will provide you with an easy answer on "what to do" (likely multiple things to do), which would ultimately give you what your chosen way of being wants.
@arabayyya Whereas, if we start with "a way of being/feeling Z", we can "do X because that's what Z people do", which "gets us the Y" (eg. good investor > properly manage investment portfolio > lots of money) 2/2
Conventional wisdom can be spotted in the team communication, whenever someone argues for a decision. Notice if the arguments are coming from a place of fear. Listen to yourself. Words are a reflection of our own limiting beliefs. Day 14 of @mastersofscale#MindsetChallenge
Here’s a secret self-help gurus don’t want you to know:
Many of the answers to life’s most important questions can be found inside of you for free.
It’s called introspection.
One of the greatest challenges a company goes through as it transitions from a startup to a scale-up: unlearning. It becomes even more challenging if you're riding a demand wave. Day 13 of the @mastersofscale 30 day #MindsetChallenge
Building the Academic Program back in 2012 in @Intel with @menepie enabled our engineering teams to scale really fast. Our collaboration with the universities turned into a great example for the Romanian growing IT sector. Day 12 of the @mastersofscale 30 day #MindsetChallenge
Day 11 of the @mastersofscale 30 day #MindsetChallenge reminded me of a typical fear: speaking up and standing behind your principles. The moment you're no longer seeing that as a risk to lose what you've got, that's when freedom and power become your gifts.
Found a super power: connecting opportunities with other people's missions - creating a snow ball effect leading to strengthened networks, scaling impact, and a great legacy. Day 10 of the @mastersofscale 30 day #MindsetChallenge
@mungara I have brought this quote into so many meetings with managers or execs, that it trully deserves a public recognition. Thanks a lot for this unique piece of inspiration.
"Don't just roll with the ball, work to be where the ball will be (or ahead)." - I got this from @mungara many many years ago, and it stuck with me. Day 9 of the @mastersofscale 30 day #MindsetChallenge
