@PaulHouse12 It is a destination program. The problem is the job changed. Portal evaluation, recruiting families, promoting the brand, and managing a $30M roster. That is the modern head coach. The ceiling is only as high as the person running it.
@zach_seyko Right coach, wrong roster for this league. He needs an offseason to build it his way. But nobody should be comfortable calling a season this expensive a wash.
@realRickBlame I remember the lean years. Rashard Casey, Matt Senneca, Zack Mills. 3-9 in 2003. Then Michael Robinson showed up and we went 11-1. Down years end. This one will too.
@WhiteOutFB Fair, but $30M+ does not buy you much time. This offseason the portal is everything. If the money goes to the trenches on both sides of the ball, he learned from year one. If not, that tells you all you need to know.
@RBonner_ A $30M+ roster does not get a rebuilding year. Patience made sense when you were developing freshmen. Now you buy a team, and you are expected to win with it
@BobbyFlo7 No argument here. Northwestern was better in all three phases and deserved it. Their staff is legit, and with that new stadium they have something real to sell. They will win games this year.
@PSUBarstool Pulling Becht is the easy answer, not the right one. A QB is only as good as the guys he is throwing to. Fix the receiver room first, then we can have the QB conversation.
@audsnyder4 Fair takes. Losing to Northwestern stings, but this is a first year staff adjusting to a Big Ten schedule with a roster it did not build. The real test is how they recruit and use the portal this offseason. Year two is where we judge them.
@AdamBreneman81 Ever shoot a three on an outdoor court with no net? You just look at your buddy and argue about it. That is apparently the ACC replay system.
@GregPickel Big 12 and Big Ten are different leagues. Campbell is a great coach, but this conference throws a new style of player at you every week. The adjustment is real, and year two will tell us more than year one.
