Interesting point I heard from a leading deep tech investor:
The best technology doesn’t always win by being the furthest ahead.
Deep tech founders often build products that are years beyond the status quo. But if the leap is too large, customers can struggle to understand, trust, or adopt it.
You have to be ahead of the market, just not too far ahead that the market can’t follow.
If you’re a founder, engineer, VC, involved in startups or just want to hang out, you should come by :)
Excited to host our first dinner soon - reach out if interested!
In my head there are two types of the pitch decks:
1. The Teaser: barely anything on the slides, nice looking, punchy sentences
2. The Dictionary: dense slides, lots of info, fleshes out most questions
No preference, just don't be in between.
Most of my best meetings lately haven't been "AI for X."
It's founders live inside a boring industry and are rebuilding one painful workflow or component
Manufacturing, construction, logistics, power electronics, chemicals
If you're building in a legacy vertical - let's talk!
