After hundred of billions of dollars in Capex, we might find out that more intelligence, either artificial or organic, does not necessarily lead to more productivity.
If you're aware that the term "permanent underclass" even exists then it's clear you'll never be a part of it. No shot. On this app all day exposing yourself to every opinion about what the future might look like
You've gotten to a point where you've essentially become an expert in predicting exactly how you might be cooked. With that level of critical thinking there's just no reality where you'll ever allow it to happen to you. Even seeing this on your feed is already proof of that
Seriously though you have to give yourself some more credit. You're not some useless sack of flesh and you never were. The fact that this stuff is even on your mind means you care enough about your life to never give up
Keep moving forward and trust in your ability to adapt to whatever life throws at you. No need to overly fear because you'll always be able to figure it out. Impossible not to figure out out being surrounded by so many bright minds. Believe it or not you're one of them
Be unbreakable.
Be relentless.
When you fall, get back up.
Refuse to stay down.
The only way you lose the game of life is if you quit.
You can always choose to get back up and try again.
You can simply choose to keep trying until you get what you want.
Your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between a real threat and a perceived one.
When you “lose,” your anterior cingulate cortex fires the same pain signals it would for a physical injury. Your prefrontal cortex then constructs a story about why you “can’t” continue.
That story is optional.
Elite performers discovered this loop: perceived failure → cortisol spike → defensive withdrawal → confirming beliefs about limitation.
The intervention point is after the cortisol spike. You can’t stop the initial stress response. But you can recognize the story your brain invents in that 90-second window before the prefrontal kicks in.
Navy SEALs call this “arousal control.” Athletes call it “not believing your first thought.” Meditators call it “observing without attachment.
Same mechanism. The penguin walking toward the glacier doesn’t need any of this vocabulary. It just hasn’t constructed a narrative about why the walk is impossible.
The defeat you’re carrying right now isn’t a fact. It’s a prefrontal interpretation of somatic signals you mistook for truth.
This is right on the money
Momentum is the most powerful force when it comes to business
If you’re eager to wake up, roll out of bed and get right back to work, you will win. Full stop
If you need pomodoro timers and dopamine detoxes to get your work done, you’re probably not working on the right thing
Wholeheartedly agree. Part of human existence is learning tough lessons & adapting, humility & a drive to work/seek knowledge. But now every idiot thinks he’s entitled to an opinion w/zero work b/c we created a bubble in asset prices & the only risk is not taking enough risk.
Life is hard. Most people just give up on it eventually (start settling, readjusting their goals downward)
Average person gives up by 20. Even most above average people throw in the towel by 30
If you’re willing to endure the pain for a long time, there’s not much competition
Friend says "hey she told me she thinks you're cute" and suddenly you walk up to her like God sent you. But without that confirmation you're timid as can be
Hiring manager says "fyi the team loved you" and your next interview is pure flow state. But zero feedback and now you're stumbling over your words
I can relax, wait no I can't. It's all psyops. No need for confirmation king. If you believe you're the man then you simply are and the world will mirror your own self love back to you. You become unstoppable once you no longer need permission to be the best version of yourself
This might make me go full William Ackman mode, ha.
It’s one of the best times, if not the best time, to break into finance unconventionally. The wealth of information and accessibility today is unprecedented thanks to the internet and modern platforms.
There’s an absurd amount of value you can extract from X if you curate your feed well. If you consistently offer value and thoughtful takes, for me also via Discord, you eventually get discovered or someone comes to you looking to have you manage their money.
I didn’t have a conventional development path because I realistically couldn’t. I’m deaf. Yes, interpreting services exist, but you still get nerfed, especially once you get into stock talk and technical matters.
That’s a big reason I didn’t bother pursuing the traditional route: reputable business school → MBA → analyst → PM.
Assume I did go that path. Two comparable candidates apply for an opportunity, one deaf, one hearing. Who gets picked? The answer is obvious. I’d have to be excessively overqualified just to win out the position.
So I said f* it and did it myself.
With enough track record, you’d eventually break through. I firmly believe that.
Even then where’s alpha from conventionality :)

@hackt1v1st@jeremytrimble@jeremytrimble Please write a blog post or a thread detailing your journey because it'd be very inspirational for people like me who are looking for new directions in life in their middle age.
Too many people waste time searching for a magical motivational unlock that will bring about a sudden phase transition in their ability. Don't bother. It doesn't exist.
Ability is built, not unlocked. You do not have a latent superpower that can be unlocked in a day. You have to build up a skillset. You build it up high enough and then other people think it's a superpower you always had.
For anyone interested in a STEM career, acquiring advanced technical skills early unlocks the most valuable thing in existence.
Something even money can’t buy.
TIME.
If you acquire demonstrable, alien-level technical skills, you can get doors opened earlier.
You don’t have to wait until college to do research projects under professors, or even paid internships.
If you’re intentional about acquiring skills and putting yourself out there, you can kick-start a serious career before most people your age are even taking serious classes.
And once you acquire early junior-level experience, that opens the door to early senior-level experience, and so on.
Compound this virtuous cycle over and over and you end up way ahead.
What’s the point of being way ahead?
IT BUYS YOU TIME.
