@UmidKD@thorstenball But the thing that kinda fucks with you is how quick and painless things can be, if you get the right tax advisor / notary / lawyer. Some make it happen and some will blame you for not knowing every loophole yourself and will drop you as a client if you ask one question to many
@UmidKD@thorstenball I bought a Vorratsgesellschaft (a preregistered company with Tax ID, VAT ID and so on), it took a couple of weeks IIRC from start to finish. Had to do one meeting in person with a notary. That only solves the founding of course. Everything else is still slow and expensive.
@Muskovite2@geemangeegee@SunlitUplandsUK@BBCPolitics I don't think that chart show anything about productivity? It seems rather that productvity stagnated after the financial crisis + austerity? That happens in and after 2007 not in 98

@Muskovite2@geemangeegee@SunlitUplandsUK@BBCPolitics You can certainly read between the lines and decide in your head that is what he means.
Also, that's not a chart of GDP. It says "trade balance". It being negative just means you can afford stuff and have access to buy it.
@Muskovite2@geemangeegee@SunlitUplandsUK@BBCPolitics And yeah, Germany has seen weak growth in recent years (though they're still the richest country by far amongst these (outside of the US)), but it is also true that the UK might have grown a lot more if not for Brexit (though maybe then immigration wouldn't have been as high).
@Muskovite2@geemangeegee@SunlitUplandsUK@BBCPolitics True, but not the whole picture. The UK growing more seems to be because its population grows the most.
The picture changes if you adjust for purchasing power.
Also interesting that Italys population _falls_, so they have the strongest population relative growth.
@typeskindaslow@simonsarris@andreasklinger I've founded in Denmark and in Germany. In DK you can go from unincorporated to having employees, VAT and export registration in days all online. In DE just getting the VAT registration takes months. And you have to do it all on paper and go to meetings personally.
@GergelyOrosz@a_aMatrix@NotionHQ I wonder if Notion employees are too familiar with the product and use the keyboard shortcuts, so that they have UI paths that none of them really use?
