Because God is outside of time he sees the dimension of time differently than we do, so the whole arc of the timeline with Jesus on the cross is the glorification of His sacrifice and his ascension and all of humanity that has been restored to relationship with God because of it. He sees the entirety of the triumphant arc.

@Camille24745832 @fight4frogs I believe she said she was judging a specific behavior. She was saying that behavior doesn’t make sense compared to what Jesus teaches. The Bible clearly calls us to do that. That type of judgment is considered discernment. She wasn’t condemning anyone or calling for punishment.

I appreciate your take, I lead a discipleship group and we have a number of conversations about the nuances here. It’s sad that so many people don’t wrestle to try to be more like Jesus but instead to chase what they feel they deserve. I have heard Jesus wants me to be happy so many times but very rarely do I hear Jesus wants to mold me to be holy. Not saying anyone should suffer needlessly or stay in abusive marriages but if we can’t even talk about the differences in what it means to sacrificially love anymore because that seems like a betrayal to self, I believe we have lost the plot!
