Our lovely Lorena and Katie with their very own 3D printed brains!🧠
Team PRENCOG wishes Lorena and Katie all the best as they move on to new and exciting opportunities after completing their PHD's 👩🎓

Led by Dr Paola Galdi, in collaboration with @emrobSci with sig. contributions from many others. Made possible by open, shareable neonatal MRI data.

The observations replicated across two independent datasets and were robust to differences that remain in the data after matching samples and alignment of processing and quality control strategies ➡️useful insights for multisite analyses.

VBI provides a granular description of regional homogeneities & sharp variations in cortical properties
Compared with term-born controls, preterm infants have a homogeneous microstructure in temporal & occipital lobes, & the medial parietal, cingulate, & frontal cortices

...neural density index and orientation dispersion index.
The VBI measures the extent of discontinuity in cortical intra-areal relationships, summarising in a single metric the information contained in a feature similarity gradient
