@kipmurkomen The agreement is btw the company & GOK. My concern what is the priority interest of the company!! WHETHER they will be paid or How they will be paid? If you raise the rates and Kenyans don't use the facility! What happens! PAID is what appears on the stamp not SOURCE OF MONEY.
Cereal Growers Association(CGA) and Farm to Market Alliance(#FtMA) are #youthempowerment champions; together, we're nurturing a future where young agri-preneurs thrive in the #agribusiness sector!

In #olkalou, #Nyandarua County, Hon. Francis Mirigu (CECM Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock) was the guest of honour and encouraged the #youth to exploit the opportunities in agribusiness.
Empowering the youth in agribusiness promotes #genderinclusivity, especially for #youngwomen, and creates countless job opportunities, stimulating economic growth and propelling communities forward.

Safe & Health Production Of Foods. Mambo ni matatu.
1. Proper use of pesticides
2. Utilization of spray service providers (SSPs)
3. Proper disposal of empty containers through EPCs
DAY 2 OF SAFE USE FIELD DAY AND EPC CAMPAIGN
Today marked the second day of the Safe Use Field Day and Empty Pesticide Containers (EPCs) Campaign. The team visited Ol-Kalou, Nyandarua County, to train farmers on the safe use and disposal of agrochemical products and the safe handling of EPCs. Additionally, farmers were sensitized to Spray Service Providers' (SSPs) services and creating linkages.
One of the most notable initiatives was the EPC collection drive, which encouraged farmers to bring forth empty pesticide containers. The collected containers were promptly gathered and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner, aligning with ongoing sustainability efforts in the agricultural sector.
Notably, the farmers showed great enthusiasm and commitment to the cause, as evidenced by their active participation in the Safe Use Field Day. The event's success highlights the importance of creating awareness and empowering farmers with knowledge on the safe handling of agrochemical products.
The Safe Use Field Day and EPC campaign is a Farm to Market Alliance and AAK Grow/CropLife Kenya initiative.

Yesterday, Farm to Market Alliance and Cereal Growers Association's teams were in #olkalou, Nyandarua County, to launch #biogas and #Damliners.
The event was graced by CECM Livestock, Fisheries and #agriculture(#Nyandarua County), Hon. Francis Miringu and His environment, and public works counterparts, Hon. Samuel Wachira and Hon. Cecilia Wangari Kiriri, respectively. Yesterday's event concluded the 1-week launch event, which saw #farmers educated on sustainable agricultural practices, including best Water Harvesting Techniques, #agroforestry, and Integrated Soil Fertility Management.
Biogas benefits farmers, especially women, by reducing the time to fetch firewood. Biogas has several other benefits, including reduced #deforestation, a source of income & #organicmanure, bio-slurry is used to treat compost, among others. On the other hand, Dam liners are used to store water in the rainy season for irrigation in the dry season.
In partnership with Farm to Market Alliance, CGA organizes frequent field days to educate youth, women, and smallholder farmers on best farming practices.
Please send us a DM on any inquiry and be part of this journey.
Others at the event include @ocpgroup, @Bayer East Africa, @_SeedCoKenya, True Vet, and @sistema_bio, among others.

Farm to Market Alliance and Cereal Growers Association's teams were in Meru to launch Damliners and Biogas for climate-smart farmers.
Farmers turned up in large numbers, ready to learn the best sustainable farming practices. Today, we are fighting excessive rainfall; tomorrow, we may fight prolonged droughts. Climate change is real and calls for climate action now, which is one of the reasons why we introduced farmers to Biogas and Damliners.
Biogas and Damliners benefit farmers in several ways, including reduced time taken to fetch firewoodโespecially for women, reduced deforestation, bio-slurry sold by farmers as manure diversifies income, reduced methane emissions, and continuous irrigation during dry seasons, among many more benefits. Take a challenge to join us in this fight and see that #togetherwegrow.
Others present at the event include the @kilimoKE, @SistemaBiobolsa, Fanisi, Insect Pro, @Bayer4Crops, @FarmStarKenya, and @Simlaw_Seeds, among others.

1. On the example given of Ksh 1.5 per day, Do we have any household in Kenya spending Ksh 45 per month?
2. There are areas in Kenya like my home area Syongungi, in Kalawa, Mbooni Constituency without any ELECTRICITY POLE!! What is the plan to connect SYONGUNGI?
In Niger, thousands of people have gathered in front of the French military base located in the capital, Niamey.
They are demanding the exit of French troops and stating their opposition to the imminent ECOWAS intervention in their country.
This slide summarises our maize story. Taken together with all previous narratives solutions are within reach. The farmer yield levels are at the heart of it. Extension++++++!!!
Electricity bill for a small commercial firm in Kenya. Fuel energy cost, forex adjustment & inflation levy account for sh 2.5M out of the total amount of sh 5.6M, which is 45% of this KPLC invoice. Unacceptable ratio. They can't be 45%!
This is robbery.

I hope people (in Africa, other low and middle income countries) pay attention to the massive policy shifts that are reorganizing the global economy.
The Washington Consensus of the last 30 years plus is dead.
Itโs replacement is a bit amorphous but starting to take shape
Societies seeking to transform their agriculture invest more in public goods i.e. research, extension, roads, irrigation...and less in private goods i.e subsidies. Funding research at KALRO and Universities and extension services should be a priority.

@Profmutisya Dear Prof. Welcome back again to reasoning. Such outlooks existed even in 2017 - 2022. The top members of current regime, you included went round promising one week if not one day turn-around of things. Some people thought you had magic. What happened prof!! What happened?
