Mugisha Allan Okello clinched the Best Research & Innovation award for his work on strengthening health systems through local pharmaceutical production in Sub-Saharan Africa, presented by Dr. Jonans Tusimiire.

This achievement reflects MUST’s commitment to community-rooted research and producing graduates ready to transform the pharmaceutical sector in Uganda and beyond.

A triumphant weekend for Mbarara University of Science and Technology

Our students pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy emerged as National Quiz Champions and secured the Best Research Presentation award at the National Pharmacy Students’ Symposium held at Makerere University (April 17–19, 2026).

Competing against top universities across Uganda, the team demonstrated exceptional mastery in pharmacology, global health, and drug regulation, proving that MUST is a true hub of excellence and innovation in pharmaceutical sciences.
