Best quick tests for machine cut stones,

Drop 2 random stones from 1m , good ones ring & don’t break/chip while hitting another.
Hit with hammer – clear “ting” sound = hard,

dull thud = reject.
Scratch with nail/panga – almost no powder = good.

Soak 5 stones 24hrs – weight gain >3% = too porous, reject.
