At a minimum, make the pay scale equal to the civilian counterpart. That’s why retention is dog shit, guys know they can make four times as much money doing the same thing as a civilian.
My son was cyber warfare, he got out after 4, making a cool 26,000 a year. He makes more than that now as a civilian with those qualifications and experience.
