In what will be a historic first for the Antrim and Newtownabbey Council area, next week we will see the installation of a Sinn Féin Mayor - lifelong republican and former H-Block blanketman, Henry’s appointment embodies the future - one embracing equality, respect and inclusion.
@patsymcglone@JohnBlairAPNI Life on the Hill will not be the same without ye a chara. You’re right about the corridor chats !!! Adh Mór, good luck on whatever comes next for you and the clann @patsymcglone 🤝
A truly sad day for the family, friends, community of Ardboe, and all of Tyrone, following the passing of Frank McGuigan.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers ever to wear the Tyrone jersey, Frank’s extraordinary talent, sporting achievements and deep connection to his community ensured he was admired far beyond the playing field.
His loss will be felt by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, former teammates and all who knew and loved him.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
For the first time ever, there are now three nationalist, pro-independence First Ministers in the North of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales 🇮🇪🏴🏴
Historic change is happening.
The union is cracking at the seams and the growing demand for independence cannot be ignored.
It was a pleasure to speak with the Year 13 and 14 Ethics classes at St Ciaran's College in Ballygawley today.
Thank you to Mr Lavery and all the teaching staff for the warm welcome and to the students for their time.
As I said today, I hope some of you will consider a future in politics - because your generation will shape the future here.
🙌🏻 A packed room of Sinn Féin activists from across Ireland on their feet after Uachtarán Mary Lou McDonald’s fantastic Ard Fheis address.
This is the largest Sinn Féin team in over a century, and together, we are building a new and united Ireland for all our people and communities.
Honoured to be to travelling to Westminster next Wednesday with Martina Flanagan and her daughter Sarah for the @lobularmoonshot vigil.
Lobular breast cancer is the second most common form of breast cancer, with 22 women diagnosed every day.
I will be joining Martina to help raise awareness, show support, and call on the British government to provide the funding needed to research and develop targeted treatments.
It was lovely to meet Martina and Lorraine recently in Ballygawley- two wonderful ladies who, despite their own diagnosis of lobular breast cancer, are working so hard on behalf of others.
It will also be incredibly special to see Martina’s daughter present a letter she has written at Westminster on behalf of all those affected. #lobularbreastcancer
"While this measure alone will not end child poverty particularly during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, it represents an important step in supporting 90,000 disadvantaged children and families in our communities."

The ANC payment was removed in 2016. Its restoration now needs cross-party backing.
My colleague Declan McAleer’s Bill will be debated in the Assembly on Monday.
Contact your local political representative and ask them to support it.
Stand up for our farmers - our rural communities depend on it.

🐮 🧑🌾 Declan McAleer’s ANC Bill will support our farmers on the most severely disadvantaged land.
60% of West Tyrone is classified as ANC, so this would provide vital support to local farm families.
Contact your local MLA and ask them to support the bill.
