@AriMelber why did you just let Marc Lotter lie on @TheBeatWithAri about states allowing abortion after birth with no challenge or fact check on air? That statement is a lie; needs to be called out. Love your show, but really disappointed right now. #trustwomen#stopthelies
“I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. I know how to do this job.”
Exactly the right message.
Every city deserves a leader like @brandon4chicago to ensure clean water and breathable air in every community!
Please join me and @janeclimatepac in supporting Commissioner Brandon Johnson for Mayor in Chicago’s April 4 runoff!
As a student of history, it’s profound to see Martin Luther King III & Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. rally around Brandon Johnson for Mayor.
Typing that sentence gave me chills.
I wish more folks valued history & everything it’s teaching us about this moment in Chicago history.
@durbin I'm very disappointed you endorsed Paul Vallas for Chicago mayor. I am a long time supporter of your's & you are a champion for so many issues. Mr. Vallas divides people & will impose policies that limit equal rights, particularly for low-income, BIPOC, & LGBT residents.
Out this afternoon, canvassing for Brandon Johnson for Mayor, with Ald. Andre Vasquez & neighbors in the 40th ward! #BrandonforChicago#Our40thforBrandon

@SteveMartinToGo Me too! I’m 62. Never too old to be emotional while voting. My grandmother cast her 1st vote in 1920, voting for Eugene Debs 4 Pres to make sure she could track it as she assumed correctly she’d be his only voter in her area. Only then did she believe her vote would be counted.
My great grandmother, Mary Maude Fitzgerald, died from an illegal, unsafe abortion. Her widower, Thomas Fitzgerald, an itinerant worker, couldn’t raise their 3 kids alone & sent them off to families that took them as servants. He died alone of TB in a work camp. #WeWillNotGoBack
In 1975, women of Iceland went on strike for equal rights. 90% of women walked off their jobs & homes, shutting down the entire country. The men could barely cope. Five years later, Iceland elected first female President. Now Iceland has the highest gender equality in the world.
Great article by Gabrielle Blair written in 2018 that looks at men's role in pregnancy. Interesting take! Important read the day after the Supreme Court dismantled the reproductive rights of women. https://t.co/yTsItb3Iwc
“Elle: For that matter, any masturbatory emissions, where the sperm is clearly not seeking an egg, could be termed reckless abandonment.
Professor Callahan: You’ve just won your case.”

Just sayin’ #RoeVWade
We cannot allow this FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT to be taken away.
This is about BODILY AUTONOMY.
Whatever we have to do to protest this - we have to do it!
Roe was not the start of abortions, it was the end of women dying from them.
WOMEN WILL NOT GO BACK!!!
Let's get a national women's strike going! We need way more than a march or a protest to deal with the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade. @CWHC1 keep us in the loop on what to do next! #RoeVWade
