Minnesota instantly becomes one of the best offenses in Basketball despite losing a fan favorite in Naz and Charlotte adds draft capital as well as toughness, defense, and more shooting to the front court. The Wolves can mask Melo’s “defense” and have the personnel to allow his superpowers to shine while chasing a title NOW. Charlotte continues to build a culture predicated on pace and space and shooting the lights out from 3 (their drafts the last two years and the acquisition of Coby put an exclamation point on this). I personally understand this deal a lot more from Minnesota’s perspective, but GM’s tend to know more than I do, so we’ll see how it shakes out. The offseason…🔥
@Jacobtheclipper I’m drafting at 6 in Dynasty. One of that trio of guards will be taken & I still feel no closer to knowing how to rank any of them. I feel like Acuff and Brown are gonna have more of a green light off rip but can see Wagler being best of 3 for modern NBA
Caleb Wilson might end up being the best player in the draft, couldn’t be more over the moon about that selection. He immediately jumps in as the exemplar for the new identity Bryson Graham is finding for the Bulls with this rebuild. Everything centers on SLAP - Size, Length, Athleticism, Physicality; Wilson obviously brings that in spades and with his mindset/motor, will likely immediately address any questions attached to his development: namely strength and range on his jump shot. He’s very underrated as a passer as well which is an element of his game I’m looking forward to seeing prosper at the NBA level.
Dailyn Swain, while clearly another SLAP guy, was initially a “what?” reaction for me at Pick 15, but I hadn’t given him a lot of time as someone I expected to be taken 5 or 6 spots later. I’ve learned a few things: archetypal downhill wing with size/physicality and the ability to handle & create as well as finish, enters the league as a good perimeter defender, has a 3 point shot that is currently a weakness but has already made a marked improvement on said weakness. Swain has aspects to him that you can’t teach and fortunately, if the 3 point shot is a weakness, that’s something that can be taught and turned into a strength with hours in the gym. Presti supposedly wanted Swain for OKC at 16 and anytime you’re a step ahead of Presti, you’re probably in pretty good shape. Two of my favorite basketball minds, Kevin O’Connor and Bill Simmons, also love Swain and see some Jimmy Butler parallels. Time will tell, but we’re optimistic for the first time in a long time. #SeeRed 🐂
I met RAIDA a year ago after we brought Beats Not Bullets to Atlantic City. In the year since, she’s proven to be as talented and motivated as any student I’ve met in my 8 years with the program. A few weeks ago, she came down to Baltimore to perform for the first time at #ThirdThursdays and was also able to log a recording session at Lineup Room Recording Studios and shoot some content with Mike Jon. These are the moments that remind me why I chose the long road I continue to travel, and for that, I’m eternally grateful✌️♥️
@J9Gaming9@VinnysCorner1 The problem with these takes bashing the Bulls is they always start with “imagine if” or “imagine how”…They were ahead of their time in roster construction/versatility & would bully teams in the modern NBA. Had to guard Pip & Toni too & “imagine” guarding Mike w/o hand-checking
Oliver Tree wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea but he was an original creative in an era that favors the cookie cutter. I didn’t listen to his music regularly, but he always had my respect for his spirited commitment to his art. Rest in Peace♥️
This month marks 8 years of working for myself full-time. There’s no roadmap, and it’s equal parts peace and turbulence. But for me, it still feels like the way✌️
@ShadrockGE@FANalyst1@LakerCj Na. Having lived through multiple eras, this generation of fan is very much the most disrespectful. No other generation attempted to retroactively discredit historical greats to prop up their narrative. Generational bias is a thing, but so is the disrespect and lack of knowledge
These platforms have creatives on a string, and it’s sad. You can spend years building an audience with ingenuity only to get back-doored into “consent” for them to use your innovation to “create” cheap, sterile AI art they profit from without paying you. Building your own platform has never been more critical
