After 37 years in education and the labor movement, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement as President of NYSUT in April.
I enthusiastically endorse and support Melinda Person for President of NYSUT!!

We are all workers. Today and everyday. Every single one of us plays a vital role to student success. We do that together. We are Rochester, NY. We are MCC.

When your #Provost leaves with the same energy she kept for her entire tenure at #monroecommunitycollege : a time consuming, confusing, list of every #faculty member and their students #gradedistributions by #semester. Zero directive. #byefelicia

But @MonroeCC is thinking about next steps 🧐

[Adam J. Bello @CountyExecBello]

After declaring a local State of Emergency this morning, I am issuing the following statement regarding the closing of all public schools in Monroe County.

[Shaun Nelms, Ed.D. @DrNelms]

Dr. Archie led the @NYSchoolSupts Summit on Diversity and Inclusivity for schools through Monroe County. He was so well received, many districts consulted with him to improve hiring practices for our region. He is highly competent, hard-working and valued by the community.

[NYSUT @nysut]

Don't let the Rochester Board of Education rush mid-year cuts that would devastate our schools.

Be ready to rally TONIGHT at 4:30 to urge the board to #SpareOurStudents.

Just a reminder to students and faculty that classes actually meet on Monday, December 16th. Final exams start on Tuesday. Yes, that does mean you started sooner and ended later than any other area higher educational institution. You are almost there!

Don’t forget: rules are made to be broken! VP Wade is excellent at bending her own rules about hiring, PTO, class cancellations, promotions, salaries, and punitive action! #monroecc #roc #rochester #communitycollege
