1. Review why executives assigned the program to you
2. Assess the business objective and rewrite the vision

Everyone's chasing senior AI talent. Almost no one is hiring level-1. But your AI natives are the ones who'll watch how things were done pre-AI, live through the transformation, and become tomorrow's leaders.

RT If your "AI strategy" is a handful of copilots and a chatbot, you're not transforming the business - you're experimenting at the edges. Time to aim higher.

RT Spinning up just one more AI pilot without clear business problems and success measures only adds to AI debt. The hard and necessary shift is from FOMO projects to vision statements and roadmaps.

RT You can't have responsible AI without responsible data. Classify AI data, extend zero trust, encrypt in use, and spell out non-negotiable governance policies from day one.

@mcdavis10 Agree, though the challenge is that you had to have predicted everything correctly upfront, which rarely happens in IT.
How do you achieve agile iteration across the contract boundary, is one fairly serious unsolved issue in partner management.

A3: Ensure everything is clearly defined and specified in the contract, more thoroughness up front can save you a lot of headaches, and a lot of $$$$.

#CIOChat Q3: The ghosts of upgrades past still haunt many IT teams: Cost overruns, partner failures, tech debt resurfacing.
What big lesson have you learned about risk management, vendor accountability, and communication that could save peers from repeating those mistakes?
A2.2) Of course, designing your infrastructure from scratch to meet or somewhat exceed business #SLA targets may be the big win. Exceeding by too much may create questions from your friendly, neighborhood CFO. #ciochat
A2) For my particular niche, there's a ton of vendor support built in for rolling upgrades, hot patching, live migrations, etc. Nobody really noticed one hardware refresh since no service went down. (shilling badly) @IBM#Power11 and related tech have upped their game. #ciochat
