In this preprint (not yet peer-reviewed), we estimated that the duck #vaccination campaign against highly pathogenic avian influenza #HPAI that was implemented in France in 2023-2024 led a relative reduction of the epidemic size of between 92% and 98%.

This is a super opportunity if you are interested in developing mathematical modelling of infectious diseases, individual-based models and/or phylodynamics, with direct implications for the management of zoonotic pathogens in poultry farming and trading networks!
📢#PhD studentship available at @INRAE_France, in collaboration with @RoyalVetCollege to #model#zoonotic pathogens (inc H5N1) spreading through well-characterised farming and trading networks. Apply by 01/07 to join us in Lyon: https://t.co/YwTqQFTLan @UMR_EPIA @PoultryHub
Getting worried—Dairy cow avian flu has now infected a man in Texas—first H5N1 avian flu likely transmitted via dairy cows (second U.S. H5N1). Several states have recently reported detecting H5N1 in cattle, which only recently started carrying avian flu.🤔

A blog post by @PoultryHub on our recent publication in @PLOSCompBiol. I am particularly proud of this piece of work and I am even happier to finally share it widely. This tool will help us understanding how poultry production systems affect the way bugs like avian flu spread.
A day late but for International Day of Women and Girls in Science👩🔬, we’re featuring this brilliant presentation from, @dr_anne_cori. A fascinating & eye-opening insight into the impact of privilege on epidemic modelling careers. A must-watch! 📽️ https://t.co/LeJHkMJRs2
Have you ever wondered if climate change could be responsible for the spatial expansion of West Nile virus in Europe? If yes, check out our new brand paper in in @NatureComms: https://t.co/hcv1B6zyr2 @ULBRecherche@frsFNRS@MOOD_H2020@ISIMIPImpacts
3/ Avian influenza: An international perspective
Our episode with @DiannProsser@VetOfTheWild@AmandineGamble@mcdupas to discuss implications of #HPAI for wild bird conservation & poultry industry in Americas + Europe.
