Update: The Spanish Council of Ministers allowed the extradition request of Fergie Chambers to proceed to court. However, this step is purely procedural, not a judgement on the US allegations.

After litigation, the court's decision will return to the Council of Ministers for final approval or veto, and even after that, there are numerous avenues for appeal by Fergie's defense.

Nevertheless, Spain should have stopped this political persecution today and allowed Fergie to reunite with his wife and children, rather than continuing months of imprisonment and forced separation at the behest of Trump.
