Very true. However, care must be taken in the decision-making process to outsource to utility/commodity.
Due diligence and prudence should be the donkeys here ("pick me! pick me!"- but often they aren't...

Me : Most "Legacy" is custom built stuff that is hanging around inside a firm whilst in the outside world it became a commodity long ago and was got rid off to utility providers.
