@cr8_communities@createstreets Why use ‘prosperous’ as an indicator!?High Streets should be welcoming to all groups regardless of means. Maybe opt for something more inclusive like ‘bustling and welcoming…”
@GreenwayPlease Because in Ireland many people associate traffic congestion, parking & open roads with prosperity. There's also a mis-conception that what works well across Europe would not work in Ireland... because of the weather. Thats why our Town Centres are full of parking and not parks.
Good to see Belfast / Belfast City Region on the front foot at MIPIM and promoting the positive benefits and opportunities of dual EU/UK market access to a global audience. Still looking for the Derry / North West Region material...

@SustainableTall You should also factor in a cost for the re-provision of 144 homes and also include a land cost and profit margin too. You should then find that the financial outlay is close to neutral or, at the very least, the financial argument for demolition is significantly weakened.
Congratulations to everyone @Institute_FC . MCI Planning pleased to have secured the full planning permission for the demolition at the Riverside Stadium and assisting the project team in delivering the Clooney Park West tender. Another positive step for the Club and their fans.
@bradley_steve@anna_mcaree The issue facing Derry flights (to London, Edinburgh etc) is competition from the budget airlines operating from Belfast's two airports. Too many still making the longer journey as the cost saving outweighs the inconvenience. There's not necessarily a lack of local demand.
@CristinaGoberna @SindicatLloguer Of course it happens. Another side effect is landlords withholding property from the market rather than accepting lower fixed rents which only reduces the overall supply further. Berlin is an interesting example worth a closer look.
@CristinaGoberna @SindicatLloguer Rent controls are well intended and agree that any forced displacement is not healthy for society and should be avoided. But another consideration common in BCN is buildings falling into disrepair and neglect if the owner is unable to pay for general repairs as rents are capped.
