Delaware Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, Baltimore/Washington freelance bass trombonist. Washington Adventist University faculty. Wears sunglasses at night
Tuba player had a flat tire, missed the first rehearsal. Conductor told him he had missed too much and and not to bother coming to rehearsal today or the gig tonight. We’re playing New World Symphony.

Me (to the high school trombone section): Do y’all know the most difficult thing about being a professional trombonist?
Kid (who isn’t wrong): Making a living!

Hey @capitalweather check out this thunderstorm outside of my flight home tonight on @SouthwestAir! Flight tracker wasn’t working but I’m guessing we were near the VA/TN border.
...and so tonight we, the fortunate few who will greet Easter morn with fanfare and song, suck in our guts and try on our suit pants, instantly regretting that bowl of ice cream every night for the last 365 nights.

@SouthwestAir Kudos to the gate agents at BOS this afternoon for jumping to help a mom and her toddler struggling to carry a car seat down the concourse and making sure she got everything where it needed to go. #luv
@HardcoreHistory I FINALLY listened to your great interview w @tomhanks and you guys helped me look really smart when I was able to answer all my wife’s questions while we watched Greyhound. Thanks and THANKS!
@dougherty_jesse Thanks for this story. The human/journeyman side of baseball is fascinating to me and isn’t often reported on. I’m “just successful enough to be dangerous” in a similarly competitive field (the arts) and I’ve observed that it takes guts to walk away on your terms. Good on him!
