State Lines
Six years after Shane and Ilya’s relationship ends in disaster, Shane is living the perfect life. He has the perfect husband, the perfect friends and a whole future planned. It would be a shame if his new Russian tutor turned out to be the ex he’s definitely over.
@hollanderach YOUR BIAS this is DIABOLICAL. The concept of feeling as though you need to pick out of Shane or Ilya or Connor or Hudson or Scott or Kip or Francois or Robbie or anyone else meanwhile I’m out here with a whole god damn meal.
I find it fascinating how many people ask me ‘are you team Ilya or Shane?’ After I make them watch HR. Like??? I’m team they fall in love in every universe? I’m team the prevailing power of their infatuation???? I’m team bonded pair do not separate?????????
I goofed around a little and posted chapter 9 of State Lines after all 😅
(a fic in which Shane is married to an asshole. An asshole who accidentally hires Shane's ex to tutor him in Russian, that is. Naturally, heartache ensues.)
But what do you mean I’m thirty with a mortgage and I put in 9 hours reading detailed descriptions of torture methods only to go home and log onto ao3 I truly contain multitudes
So I’m doing a Masters in Peace and Conflict specialising in genocide and torture, and I was talking to a human rights lawyer a few days ago and he was like ‘this work is difficult, what do you do to take care of yourself?’ And I didn’t know how to say write fan fiction.
Being a fan girl as a full blown adult is genuinely hilarious like my career path is one of the most serious imaginable and I make silly goofy jokes but obviously there is NOTHING I take more seriously than the work that I am preparing to do.
