@JohnnieMo@MikeGraczyk Yes - that execution warrant is only good for today so if the courts either don’t issue a ruling or appeals are still pending at midnight, it expires and the execution is automatically off. (One other possibility is the courts finally rule, but too late for TDCJ

@mountianchix It’s not really about ‘deserving.’ It’s about security. With nothing to lose, what stops you from assaulting an officer or stabbing others? What can they take when you have nothing? A radio, access to TV, a typewriter - those matter. They are incentives for good behavior.
Quick question: how many TDCJ inmates need to escape before the Texas Board of Criminal Justice decides that *maybe* the agency needs new leadership at the top? It would appear current policies aren’t working if an inmate can “slip” away.
