We are #speakingoutforbabies at Royal Oldham Hospital NICU this week for Infant Mental Health Awareness Week #IMHAW2024

[Parent-Infant Foundation @ParentInfantFdn]

It's #IMHAW2024
At least 1 in 10 babies in the UK is living in fear & distress. Too often babies are overlooked. We want to make sure babies’ voices are heard! With an election looming, we are calling on politicians from all parties to #SpeakUpForBabies 👉https://t.co/hUfjCGwUGs

Regardless of your journey and experience of becoming a mother. There will always be a number of losses that occur.

What do you feel has changed for you? What do you miss?
How do you start to rediscover you?

[Bliss Baby Charity @Blisscharity]

Today we’ve published new research showing that most parents in England must leave their babies overnight as neonatal units don’t routinely provide beds where parents can sleep or rest. Read our latest findings here: https://t.co/YdIXYjLC4B #FamilesKeptApart

[Lindsey Robins @Perinatallinz]

With you in mind group is a fantastic way to get support during the perinatal period, is there one in your area?
It is run by Homestart peer support workers and I have always found it to be a lovely welcoming space.

[Sands - baby loss charity 💜🧡 @SandsUK]

Today the Sands & @Tommys Joint Policy Unit published its priorities for the next government.

These are the changes needed to make maternity & neonatal services safer, that will save babies' lives & eliminate inequalities in care.

Strongly encourage anyone with personal or work links to #neonates to submit evidence on the key issues affecting the #NICU families you represent. The more #voices we hear, the more chance we have of getting things right. #HIE & adults born #preterm missing so far! #Prematurity

[Dr C (Rachel) 💙 @DrColeFletch]

Awareness of this is SO important. When I began my work with #neonatal #families, I was also guilty of thinking every baby on the #NICU must be #preemie but that's not the case at all. In fact, parents admitted with a #fullterm baby are often less prepared, and more #trauma. #HIE

This week is #FeedingTubeAwarenessWeek (4- 10 Feb)
Establishing feeding for a baby born premature can be one of the great challenges for parents in neonatal care and beyond.

Please share your pictures and stories this week, helping to raise awareness & celebrate tube fed babies!

[Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Fund @PIMHFund]

This week is #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek & the theme is My Voice Matters💛 It's so important to remember that babies have a voice.

The Voice of the Infant Best Practice Guidelines shows us how to consider infants' views and uphold their rights.
