I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Rick Gilson and record this Podcast https://t.co/zQ4W8tMLpX
It is the first of a new Podcast series. I encourage you to subscribe.
@burgessdave Funny thing, this was me on Friday. I always knew that having classroom routines was important but even more so when you can't talk. Notes on the board, pantomime, respectful students, and great resources to fall back on that promote deep thinking and collaboration.
Making big connections during math class today. How does knowing 7+8 help you with 70+80? My 3-4 combined class explored 700+800 and 7000 + 8000 using the same strategies! #math is fun @lochearn
What if we spent the time we use to administer and grade “the mad math minute” to actually sit down with each child FOR a minute so we can listen to their thinking...just a thought. #elemmathchat
My students let me know how they would like to be greeted as they arrive to class in the morning. Hugs, high fives, fist bumps, and smiles. This week we have added a dance!
We want students to read (or be read to) every night. Starting next Monday, Mrs. Spencer will read a story at 7pm, on Lochearn’s Facebook page. Hope to see you there! #fortheloveofreading#lochearnrocks
