@not_sacke Thanks mate. All feedback welcome!! ... I'm very keen to improve the tool so give me the good, the bad and the ugly. Also any shape library ideas.

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

SimpleD is now available on the Mac App Store.

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

(... and don't forget, SimpleD may look simple but has lots of powerful features, like allowing you to attach shape data to shapes and then export that shape data to your spreadsheet....)

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

Today I'm creating another free shape library ... this one for people who monitor buildings for energy performance and need a quick sketch or two without cranking up the usual serious, BORING software apps.

If building energy monitoring is your area, can I have your thoughts?

How I imagine you using these: drag a floor plan png into SimpleD and then layer on shapes from this library ( sensors, hubs, meters, etc.) to show what’s installed or proposed. Then you've got a sketch for your “where should the CO2 sensors go” conversation at 2pm today.

If this library idea sounds interesting, what shapes would be helpful? Which devices do you place most often? So far I've got some basic shapes for occupancy, temperature, humidity, CO2, air quality, daylight, window contacts and submeters. What else would help you communicate quickly?

Comment or message me, and I’ll share the draft set with anyone who wants to pick it apart.

@bryanmwolfe Any thoughts much appreciated

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

@bryanmwolfe Surely 2027 is the perfect time for an refresh of "15 essential productivity apps that every Mac user should try" (and SimpleDiagrams would surely love to be on that list).

@StevBuilds Connecting! 😀 Looking forward to learning more about your strategies and successes.

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

@fluentlanguage Just finished your article "If you’ve got a Mac, these 3 apps will make you happy." ... can I humbly petition SimpleDiagrams for your #4 spot??

@bakarichavanu Thanks for sharing your journey, Bakari. Just followed. (I'm building SimpleDiagrams, a MacOS native diagramming app.) Looking forward to hearing news on your progress!

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

@MacHow2 SimpleDiagrams would be a great addition to your list if you refresh for 2027!

@Dylan_Texe Burns incense, recites each morning : “I will not become lost in distraction and waste precious time creating useless features”

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

@nicole_replogle May I most humbly suggest SimpleDiagrams for any 2027 refreshes you'll be doing on your MacOS productivity apps piece...

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

@karpathy You wrote "Instead of writing, ask your LLM to create a diagram." ... and you could export that as a .simplediagrams file for further noodling!

[McQuillen Interactive @McQInteractive]

Just posted a simple skill that creates a diagram in .simplediagrams format.

https://t.co/wXzohUJA7X

Get your agent to do the busy work while you get your flat white (magic. you deserve extra today.). Then you can just tweak the final diagram in SimpleD...your favourite MacOS desktop app.

Give it a go and let me know what you think.

@VuNguyenDev Your 2027 list will look sooooo snazzy and on point with SimpleDiagrams as a mention for productivity.

New free shape library for SimpleD for all you electronics geeks.

(I'm messing around with an arduino but the most I can do at the moment is make a nice red LED light up. You must understand: for a traditional dweller of software space who rarely works with his hands beyond typing, this manifestation in physical space is...something to behold.)

@MatthiasCordes I'm keen to pull one of those exported SVGs into SimpleDiagrams to see how it renders.
+1 request to release!
