Lee McQueen is an Independent Progressive candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, Arkansas, 4th District, Tue Nov 6, 2018. "Let's Run for Congress!"
#FightFor15 This is what the democratic process looks like in AR. Voters propose ballot initiatives, AR's AG blocks initiatives from appearing on the ballot. The AR legislature laughs. Repeat. @McQueen4USRep supports Raise the Wage Act https://t.co/ekjnA1APiG
#FutureArkansas means forward progress. Normalized trade with Cuba + strong renewable energy partnerships with Arkansas's farmers + reintroduction of industrial hemp to Arkansas == new markets, new industries, more jobs for Arkansas.
@McQueen4USRep supports normalization of trade with Cuba to open markets for Arkansas's rice, soybean, hog & poultry farmers; to compete from a stronger position with Canada/Mexico/Asian nations who already trade with Cuba.
@realDonaldTrump campaigned as the infrastructure & jobs president. In SW Arkansas, our passenger & freight rail systems are overburdened and understaffed. We need improvements to our transportation networks and we need workers. https://t.co/IU2HRvjDBj
NAFTA 2.0 deadline was May 1st, but has been pushed to June 1st. Oil & gas industry, plus their telemarketers elected to Congress are pushing to maintain Investor State Dispute Settlement ISDS, a constitutional disaster. https://t.co/FDzUU8fxUE
@SenSanders Good news for Red States Rising. Teachers are professionals of classroom management, curriculum development, and subject expertise. They deserve to be compensated as professionals.
I look forward to more municipalities taking a common sense approach to criminal justice, restoring lives and civil rights back to citizens. Restoring housing, education, work opportunities. https://t.co/CSTqBDyVMO
"PLC [price loss coverage] provides money to rice farmers when the price drops to a certain levels,... to ensure rice farmers can survive when prices are low." Not only suppliers, but also consumers require assistance to survive. https://t.co/sNsSfwysva
@McQueen4USRep supports HR 676 Expanded & Improved Medicare for All, rather than a complicated, bureaucratic, demoralizing, impersonal system designed for the purpose of removing human beings from access to healthcare. https://t.co/FK8nFXLBQc
Restore voting rights to the working men and women, the tax payers, the citizens of Arkansas's District 4. 3/5ths does not make a whole. @McQueen4USRep supports restoration of voting rights to ex-felons.
On behalf of the disenfranchised citizens @McQueen4USRep encountered across Arkansas's District 4, "Taxation without representation," is #NotDemocracy#UnAmerican. It is time to restore voting rights. #FutureArkansas
While #College4All is sometimes a hard sell in Arkansas's District 4, #Medicare4All enjoys wider approval. Speaking face-to-face with citizens of District 4 has made me a better candidate. Thank you! https://t.co/3fMSVSIoIB
Despite citizen efforts to place numerous initiatives on AR's ballot, we have an AG that blocks citizen efforts to present these initiatives for consideration by Arkansas voters. #NotDemocracy
Traveling around AR District 4, confirmed what I already knew--the heavy use SW Arkansas's infrastructure such as rail endures despite continuous lack of funding for transportation of passengers and freight via rail.
I learned that many working class citizens of Arkansas remain disenfranchised because of a past felony. Even though they work and pay sales, property, income taxes to local, state, federal governments--they cannot vote.
Canvassing for ballot access has been an education. I learned that many people are suffering symptoms such as tremors, seizures, severe pain. They require access to medical MJ despite State efforts to deny the will of the voters access.
@McQueen4USRep spoke face-to-face with thousands of Arkansans in District 4 on the #FutureArkansas platform. She received signatures from across party lines because signers felt independents should have equal access.
