@Lawton_Braves I agree. we have a culture worth preserving with a history rife with pain, struggle and cruelty on the base of which we usa thrive. Globalism is out to destroy this identity so they it can pillage. Those people have a disdain for the future and humanity.
@antoniogm@zerohedge Well put. Over hiring poor and mediocre talent focused on cost. Capital concentration in a narrow space and poor capital allocation. Misunderstanding what coding is and isn't and what good engineering looks like by business and refusal to pay for talent instead doing DEI and h1b
@antoniogm@zerohedge I'm currently fixing a project a team vibe coded . Doesn't work. Doesn't do what the business asked for. Crap engineers will remain crap given any tool.
@ChiefEngineerCE@TheChiefNerd I don't think so. We don't need Punch cards anymore either. AI is a huge misnomer. It's just a compression algorithm on knowledge. Not intelligence
@satyanadella Tldr; intelligent humans are substantially more valuable than the less intelligent given the same tools. Concerning that a CEO of a major company has only now reached this obvious epiphany.
@kristijan_kralj Spot on. But I will go further. You don't need multi repo, polyglot, micro service based architectures to serve tens of millions of users. The amount of brain energy drained doing that, is better used trying to figure out how to keep everything needed in-process RAM
@tekbog Similar experience and viewpoint here. Org structure and process and "collaboration" is what most IT depts value, not shipping. They disdain actual smarts and experience because it could derail their system. AI has an opportunity to change this due to the cost, necessitating ROI.
