@danaMpatton@PeachOhs and to your original point, it'd be a different conversation if Jersey City had the services of Montclair or Maplewood, but we obviously don't. We should be able to do so much more with our tax base, especially with the economies of scale that come from a dense city
@danaMpatton@PeachOhs I think I've lost the plot here, sorry: the main point I'm making is that it's gross to cater a campaign to homeowners, but gripes from both homeowners and renters against how property taxes have been handled here the last few years aren't unreasonable
@MeganCarolan@danaMpatton We shouldn't think of property taxes as something that only affects homeownersβI'd argue that sentiment even works in the favor of homeowners when they try to do to exclude renters' voices on public issues (like those at council meetings that insist on saying they're a homeowner)
These lines shouldnβt have been cut in the first place, it shouldnβt have taken this much work to get them reinstated, but Iβm very happy for those who rely on these services
Congrats to the many people who worked very hard to keep attention on this issue and the incredible win!
The exhausted Armenians streaming into Armenia with few possessions, many unsure of where to go, means Azerbaijan gave them no choice but to leave. Azerbaijan bombed these people into submission after starving them for 9 months
@StevenFulop@Park_Committee Why is this approach so different from your campaignβs of tying up endorsements for your run, years ahead of the election, before a βfield actually formsβ?
A real humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding in Nagorno-Karabakh right now. Azerbaijan blocks all international access and everyone stands by and watches it.
