TRUE STORY*: A lesson frm a state I hibernated in this period. So, these guys broke into the state library & looted valuables such as fans, AC units, chairs, dispensers, desktops, etc.
*GUESS WHAT*? All the books on the shelf were intact. The society we hav eventually built.
“We were taught to unite ourselves, encourage each other, share useful information with each other."
– Lydia Adamu, Yola #Nigeria
Lydia lost her parents due to conflict. She joined a program we run to support families of the missing.
Now, she works with us to help others.
Here is a happy teaching moment🙃
In Mubi, we work with communities affected by armed conflict to raise awareness of the nutritional needs we all share.
Millions of people – including millions of children – need nutritional assistance in Nigeria.
This work is vital. #Nigeria
Dauda is originally from Madagali but he fled to Cameroon with his family when armed men invaded the town in 2014. He returned to Mubi last year where he now lives.
Dauda says he can’t return to Madagali because of the frequent attacks there.
Disabled from birth and displaced by armed conflict, Hassan has been a farmer all his life.
We recently supported Hassan and 3,000 farmers affected by conflict in Mubi and Maiha, Adamawa State. Each farmer received improved seeds, and cash for food and other needs.
We travelled with the #ICRC to Yola in Northeast of #Nigeria. We witnessed the tragedy of conflict-induced displacement, hunger and poverty.
Impressed by the commitment of @ICRC_Nigeria teams, operating in very difficult conditions.

We arrived at the office this morning to see a beautiful present waiting for us outside.
When I asked Aji Bukar why he is gifting this to the #ICRC, he replied: “because you bring good into the world”
What a great reminder of why we must continue doing the work we do.
