Closing the US Consulate in #Thessaloniki would be a strategic DISASTER. This is no mere public diplomacy post - the potential of the base at Alexandroupolis and the of the port of Thessaloniki cannot be optimized without this Consulate. Only US adversaries - China and Russia - and “frenemies” like Turkey would benefit from this.

If @kimguilfoyle’s charge as US Ambassador to Greece is to counter China, closing this consulate would give her a Mission Impossible.
