@Artemisfornow Had a heat pump installed in a 1920s stone semi. No additional insulation required, no pipes needed replacing not even a floor board lifted. Some rads needed replacing but there were likely 30+ years old any way. Warm and cosy house.
@Artemisfornow Mines costing a fraction of what I payed to heat with oil. If it's not working for you, then your install wasn't designed or installed properly. Most reputable installers such as heat geeks will guarantee the performance.
@andyt5678@NeilRey61735912@harrym_vids very true. EVs are just better cars for most of the driving that most people do most of the time. My wife uses her EV for her gardening business and general running around locally, she would never go back. I use my EV in my field sales engineer role, travelling all over UK.
@Chris_Hill321@shocky100 @o_burbidge @techpoodle@OctopusEnergy@g__j@shocky100 my HP is designed for 50C @-1.7C. Last night was -1.8C(HP sensor). HP kept the house at 20C with a flow of 33C using the same power input as it does to heat the house at+10C. surely oversized?
@stuygad @DrMoragKerr@AntiEVidiots Hydrogen is great if you are an oil and gas company as it ties people in to buying fuel from their filling stations at what ever prices the OPEC cartel decides you should pay to maximise their profits. With EVs, the oil and gas companies no longer have control over motorists.
@stuygad @DrMoragKerr@AntiEVidiots FYI, a hydrogen fuel cell car is just a more complex and more expensive EV. The fuel cell generates electricity with is passed to a battery before being used by an electric motor. Hydrogen mostly comes from fossil fuels which explains why it's promoted by oil and gas companies.
@TeslaTim2@alyssa_zupan Can't disagree π a very underrated EV. The range scares people but for alot of days to day running around its fine. Our Fortwo with the roof down turns more heads than our Model Y.
@lakes_eco_van@robertjwhitney Love our Smart. For day to day running around we choose it over our Tesla every time. With the roof down it turns more heads than my Modely Y.
@olddiesel Google maps is the best estimate for an ice car ( does not include stops) and when you add a couple of stops to stretch legs, use loo, get a coffee or bite to eat, let's say 2 or 3 20 min stops and both EV and ICE looking pretty similar. Which matches my experience.
