I’m a Christian. I worship God. I read the Bible. These people seem to fundamentally misunderstand the greatness of the United States, our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and even Christianity itself.

“Is there room for Jews in a Christian state?” … What the hell even is this question? Why is it even being asked? What does it mean to “make room” for a religious group? Who has that power? Utter nonsense!

Nowhere in either my history classes, my law school classes, or my Bible study classes have I ever heard the suggestion from any kind of authority (spiritual or otherwise) that our energies as Christians or Americans should be geared toward creating a worldly government focused on excluding or marginalizing other religious people and their religious practice in the interest of mandating societal religious conformity to Christianity through the use of state power.

That is not Christian or American. It’s something else. I don’t want my governor deciding what counts as Christian enough; that’s between me, my pastor, and God.

Christianity, in its truest sense, cannot be forced onto a populace. It can only come through willing acceptance and real belief. The United States was formed as a protective haven for Christianity and other religions precisely because it did not seek to enforce religious acceptance on its citizens! This is basic stuff.

This NatCon nonsense is completely asinine and backwards—not just as a matter of American constitutional founding—but also as a matter of basic Christian theology.
