I went to Ukraine with Senator Portman to meet with President Zelenskyy and discuss the status of the war and American aid. Ukraine’s resistance to Putin’s barbarism has inspired the world. I’m more committed than ever to supporting their fight for democracy and sovereignty.
Public libraries: they’re pretty amazing! Support yours today, because whether or not you realize it, they’re supporting your community — and supporting YOU. 💛
I have made it my mission to unteach children that “fiction is fake.”
Here are my new definitions I started teaching today:
▪️Nonfiction = learning through information
▫️Fiction = learning through imagination

Today @POTUS signed the CHIPS and Science Act, which will provide $52.7 billion for American semiconductor research, development, and manufacturing. This law will secure domestic supply and create tens of thousands of good-paying union jobs in the process.
Here’s a recap of the last few weeks in the U.S. Senate:
PACT Act to help vets - passed ✅
CHIPS Act to boost American production - passed ✅
Historic bill to take on climate AND drug prices - passed ✅✅✅
This afternoon I cast the tie-breaking vote on the Inflation Reduction Act. This bill will help lower inflation and the cost of living for millions of American families—lowering the cost of health care, prescription drugs, and everyday energy costs.
PASSED! The Senate Democratic majority advanced the Inflation Reduction Act: making billionaire corporations pay a minimum tax to fund historic investments in clean energy and lower costs.
Every Senate Republican sided with corporate special interests and against this bill.
Today 43 Republicans voted to keep insulin at $1200/mo instead of $35. Tomorrow every Republican will ask you to be outraged that gas is $5 instead of $3.
In the GOP world, $1200 for life saving insulin in fair play but $5 for gas is an outrage.
Vote them all out.
We need to be clear about what Washington Republicans did yesterday: they blocked a Senate bill—without a vote—that would reaffirm Americans rights to travel between U.S. states.
We should all be outraged. #BansOffOurBodies
The time is long overdue to legalize marijuana nationally, expunge past marijuana convictions and ensure revenue from legal marijuana is reinvested in the communities most impacted by the failed war on drugs.
Over the last two decades, more school-age children have died from guns than on-duty police officers and active duty military combined.
Think about that.
For God’s sake how much more carnage are we willing to accept?
