@DarioAmodei Why do you need government to do wealth redistribution? In such a world I’m sure we can find pretty obvious business schemes that pay out “UBI” or insurance, combined with finding new jobs for people to do and educating them.
@typesfaster@WestsideLAGuy Ok, but the 3rd world stuff is heavily skewed towards meat skewers on carts with open flames, rather than government funded drug addicts like California primarily has
@AjaxTheOdd@__tinygrad__@1a1n1d1y@SingularityRes I don’t think the dot com bubble was bad either. And I think people wastly overestimate how high the bar for productivity is. FAANG is paying many billions per month in payroll, do you think they are producing billions of value each month? Value creation is very non-linear
@elliotarledge@itsclivetime Using LLMs to write low-level code for you. They are just using LLMs in some combination to replace compilers. But their input will still be a graph or a other high-level description of the computation
@itsclivetime@elliotarledge Yeah, I don’t understand why people think replacing compiler abstractions with LLM abstractions is somehow more “bare metal”
@DmitryRybin1 So we should not advance our sciences so people can keep solving puzzles by hand? Might as well burn some books so we have even more left to discover
