@Kshi_nippon I had o oda japan just like usa, has signs with paragraphs on them. Dont they know this is also terribly unsafe, even if you read them? As you cant look at the road. Europe has signs that impotant ones has zero text on them.
@LeeandLie Its curse of timezones. Which arent actually real. Its manifestation of each country's hubris. We should live on GMT 0 or something, at leadt while travelling :D
@Sierra_rak Food. I grow food professionally and most of the stuff is orders of magnitude cheaper (as bought from us, like graibs) than when it rraches the consuner, after changing hands dozens of times (i mean stuff like grain changes hands several times for no fucking rrason)
Most idiotic take comparing us to orkland. And callim us poorer. Also math. Depopulatio to per capita? Can you reread stuff uou post and use logic more?
Lithuania looks richer than Poland on GDP per capita (PPP). But when we look at net monthly average wages (PPP) - Poland is close to overtaking the UK, whereas Lithuania is poorer than Russia. Why is that?
GDP per capita statistics in the Baltic states is inflated for a variety of reasons:
1. Baltics states suffered massive depopulation. Lithuania lost over 20% of its population since the early 90s. Latvia lost 30%. Poland's population is roughly the same as early 90s. Naturally, removing 20-30% of the population inflates the per capita number.
2. Baltics states has a large number of international corporations and tech companies relative to their small population. These corporation's profits inflate the respective country's GDP - however these profits are distributed to shareholders (including international ones) and not to local workers.
By comparison, Poland does a better job at retaining the profits locally, allowing the average citizen to see a material benefit on a per capita basis.
3. Average wage (PPP) more accurately measures what the average citizens spends their salaries on (housing, food, utilities etc) vs GDP per capita. On those metrics, Poland is still much more affordable than the Baltics, in PPP terms.

Thus when analyzing a country's wealth, one should not look only at GDP per capita PPP but other variables too such as average wages.
